| Confirmed by whom? You keep saying it's "confirmed" but by whom? | |

Definitely not "love," it's "the." http://nationalhighvioletlyrics.blogspot.com/2010/05/national-vanderlyle-crybaby-geeks.html |

If these lyrics are correct ALL of you are wrong (not that there's anything wrong with your being wrong about guessing Berninger's sometimes hard to hear lyrics). http://nationalhighvioletlyrics.blogspot.com/2010/05/national-afraid-of-everyone.html Then I'm radio and Then I'm television I'm afraid of everyone I'm afraid of everyone There the young blue body With the old red body I'm afraid of everyone I'm afraid of everyone With my kid on my shoulders I try Not to hurt anybody I like But I don't have the drugs to sort I don't have the drugs to sort it out Sort it out I defend my family With my orange umbrella I'm afraid of everyone I'm afraid of everyone With my shiny new star- Spangled tennis shoes on I'm afraid of everyone I'm afraid of everyone With my kid on my shoulders I try Not to hurt anybody I like But I don't have the drugs to sort I don't have the drugs to sort it out Sort it out I don't have the drugs to sort I don't have the drugs to sort it out Sort it out Your voices all in my soul soul soul Your voice is swallowin my soul soul soul Your voices swallowin my soul soul soul Your voices all in my soul soul soul Your voices all in my soul soul soul soul Your voice is swallowin my soul soul soul soul Your voices swallowin my soul soul soul soul Soul soul soul soul soul soul soul soul soul soul Your voices all in my soul soul soul soul Your voice is swallowin my soul soul soul soul Your voices swallowin my soul soul soul soul Soul soul soul soul soul soul soul soul soul soul |

| The Antlers – Kettering Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Good job not interpreting the songs well: http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/13196-hospice/ FTA: "Centered around a relationship with a terminally ill child . . ." Child, i.e. daughter. Unless of course the narrator is a pervert and has a child-wife. |
|
| The Antlers – Kettering Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| The entire album is about the narrator's daughter dying of cancer: the back-story, her diagnosis, his time with her in the treatment facility, etcetera. | |
| Fleet Foxes – Mykonos Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I should say narrator. I don't mean the singer's brother is literally gay, but the narrator of the song. | |
| Fleet Foxes – Mykonos Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Obviously the singer's brother is gay, rejected by his parents (not the brother i.e. singer) and went to Mykonos. | |
| Dirty Projectors – Two Doves Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This is Angel, right? Or am I mistaken and this is Amber? | |
| Eminem – Crack A Bottle Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The song (Eminem's partion) is good. Listen to it again carefully, ignoring anything past Eminem's verses, so basically stop before Dre comes on. | |
| Elbow – Friend of Ours Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is amazing. There are very few words but the emotion and the mood portrayed by the music and Garvey's voice is astounding. | |
| Elbow – Some Riot Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This is about the band's friend, Brian Glancy, who died while they were working on the album. I think this is about Glancy being dead, but there are multiple meanings to anything. A bramble is a shrub, so I thought of it as Glancy being buried and shrubs growing around. |
|
| Elbow – Grounds for Divorce Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song is about the band's close friend, Brian Glancy, who died while they were working on this album. The hole in the neighborhood is Glancy's grave. Bringing the roses is taking them to Glancy's grave. I don't think a father would ever give his son roses . . .? Someday the members of the band will all die, so they will be drinking with Glancy, The Seldom Seen Kid, in the afterlife. |

| Elbow – The Bones Of You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I have recently discovered this band, and I am disappointed that I had not sooner. Their music is great, but the lyrics are amazing. Guy Garvey is one of the best lyricists I can think of. He creates incredible imagery and mood. The bones represent the foundation of the former love: the music that reminds him of her. Even though he destroyed all physical evidence of their relationship, the little things remind him of her and he cannot get over this feeling. |

| Black Mountain – Wild Wind Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Short, but effective song. It is very Tom Petty-ish. Taking life as it comes, but with that also having to accept that there will be troubles. Or, you can fake it and try a new life, but deep inside there will always be a longing to have more than the phony facade you have created. |

| Band of Horses – No One's Gonna Love You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Absolutely beautiful song. My favorite on the album, and one of the best songs I have heard in my 18 years on this earth. Everything has already been said about the meaning. Despite the everlasting love the couple has for one another, the relationship is coming to an end. However, no one is going to love the second party more than the narrator can. I am absolutely astounded by this song. It is good to know that there are still artists who take song writing seriously, and use it to create catharsis with us listeners. |

| Band of Horses – Cigarettes, Wedding Bands Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This is a very great song. It is my second favorite on the entire album. My interpretations of the song has mostly been stated: A failing marriage because of lost love and possibly infidelity. As many have stated about their respective parents, my parents too are divorced. |

Very relaxing and beautiful song. Possibly about letting go, just forgetting the troubles or troublesome things in life, and instead living freely and uninhibited. |
