A friend of mine says he heard Aled say it is about his sister or dedicated to his sister or something. The song is clearly making reference to the book of the same name and the book is about child rape and ultimately murder. I also
find it quite telling that he wrote this song before the Lovely Bones film was released. |

This is a very intelligent song. People often think of the 1940s as being a very ignorant and racist time in our history. I say the author of this song was a very insightful person. We could learn a lot from this song. |

This song always catches me off guard. Has me in tears at the start of the first chorus. Don't know why. I think it reminds me of the journey I've travelled and that I'm still on that mountain but it's easier than it was. |

Whatever the song is about, I think he is being deliberately contradicting. About caring and not caring. Possibly a confusion as to what he SHOULD care about but doesn't and things which he does care about but shouldn't matter. |
