| Bibio – More Excuses Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| something about the structure of this song is so aesthetically pleasing...the way he remains on one note (with the exception of the word 'flowers') makes it feel like it's coming from a person who feels stuck, forced into a position that they wouldn't otherwise choose. someone who made the innocent mistake of not being sedentary and now is stuck with the repercussions of not being proactive with their life. and the marching buildup is absolutely jarring, i love when the bells first drop in and then when the tambourine hits...good god. really genius song, amazing lyrics | |

| Bibio – The Apple and the Tooth Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Bibio is incredible. I've never heard a catchier song with such deep lyrics! I interpret a sentiment of infinite oneness, that we are all part of one eternal cycle. Trees are broken down to create plows, which in turn sow more trees. We breathe in "particles" (air, water, dust, etc.) so that we may breathe out "articles" (words, thoughts, etc.) Furthermore, our divisive minds see the apple as the prize of an apple tree. It is not an attached fixture of the tree, but rather another part of the tree's overall growth. And since the tree never "gained" an apple it can never "lose" one. Truly beautiful poetry...and so applicable to life! "and the apple never got attached, and therefore didn't get detached" |

| Bibio – Flesh Rots, Pip Sown Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I've been listening to these lines over and over lately and I can't help but think that this song is about the death of a family pet. The last line, "Entwining into his paws" makes me think he isn't talking about a person but a dog. The dog died and they took him to rest under a "railway sleeper", where the foliage begins to claim his body. Beautiful! | |

vincentedgar: I agree that the lyrics are vague, but not insubstantial. To me the song is about the physical transition back into nature, maybe by means of death. Not sure what the lot about the car is about, but: "His eyes were open But we were guessing he wasn't seeing straight out of them No, he didn't have to wait much longer" I hear this as a man who is about to die. His eyes are open, but he's in the process of dying, he's not seeing the world we see. "He'd go just after I left And now he's merging Under a railway sleeper With the ferns and the creeper roots Entwining into his paws" Merging could signify the transition from a living soul to a body--a mere collection of elements, then the ferns and roots enter as the earth reclaims his body. It's quite a beautiful song, like most of Bibio's it shines light on our intimate relationship with nature. |

| Cloud Cult – Everybody Here Is a Cloud Lyrics | 15 years ago |

"This world has gotten pretty screwed up; that much is obvious" What do you mean by that? I think the human race has always had its problems, could it perhaps be the opposite, that we've in fact gotten "better"? After all none of us has personally witnissed all of humanity, at best we see our development throughout a period of 100 years or so. Anyway, this song is brilliant, and beautifully truthful. They project the true emotion of simply feeling human, which I love. |

| I listened to this song a in complete darkness/silence in my bedroom a few days ago and found myself terrified. I find this very odd considering cichon123 and bocmaxima feel the same way. There's something to this song. | |

I could have sworn the line was: "They mesmerize; Skeletize" Skeletize as in "kill" |
