The Maine – We Change, We Wait Lyrics 17 years ago
I think it's about a guy going through a hard time, seeing things for the first time, changing all his past philosophies, and 'discovering himself'. I remember reading somewhere when Alex Gaskarth mentioned that the period when you're finally seeing who you are is a stressful period, and not as graceful as movies may make it seem, cause your change isn't only affecting you, but everyone around you.

Here, his girlfriend, or just a friend for that matter, is obviously affected by it, seeing as how she says he'll "never grow up," but he responds with "Do you ever feel," as if asking if she has reached that stage yet, or ever felt the same. During that 'phase', a lot of times you feel alone, and you feel like your friends aren't really your friends, etc. Of course, he knows the phase will pass and life will be good again, and hopefully even better, and asks her to wait for him.

The other theories about relationships fit perfectly too :) I'm just fond of the 'self-discovery-phase' theory, because I think i'm going through that right now, and despite some complications, i've never felt better.

We Change, We Wait. Genius.

The Maine ROCKS!

Forever the Sickest Kids – The Party Song Lyrics 17 years ago
Agreed with meggeroni. Basically, you know, a party, boys, girls, drinks, hormones..

Oh, and the other version of this song has some extra lyrics, and i'll post them here:

(cont.)

I lost my keys so i'll stay the night
And lie on the carpet with you
Til' you close your eyes, singing
La la la la la, la la la, la la
La la la la la, la la la, la la
And la la la la la, la la la, la la
La la la la la, la la la, la la

You're the first to take a drink
The first to hit the scene
Oh girl you're killing me
And you're (you're) the first to take the drink
(The first to take the drink)
The first to hit the scene
(When you're hitting the scene)
Oh girl you're killing me

And la la la la la, la la la, la la
(You're the first to arrive, the first to take a drink)
La la la la la, la la la, la la
(The first to hit the scene, and you make all the guys)
(Cause you're showing off your curves)
And la la la la la, la la la, la la
(Stumble into walls, you're showing off your curves)
La la la la la, la la la, la la
(You're hiding in that skirt, ohh)

Nothing much, but I felt obliged to. Hah

All Time Low – The Party Scene Lyrics 17 years ago
thanks for sharing FOB_tara. I'm sure she hasn't forgotten, she's probably just occupied with other things :)

I think this song is just about growing up from what the party scene had to offer. I'm guessing for him, the idea hit him when he was 17.

This song is amazingg, with the drum beats and guitar riffs, and the catchy tune and lyrics and stuff. It's strong, and to think they wrote this when they were 17-16ish? Wow :)

Love the song. Reminds me that I need to take a break sometimes. I haven't a lot of time for those lately..

Forever the Sickest Kids – Coffee Break Lyrics 18 years ago
It's kind of funny, how this is the type of song i'd be listening to if I were taking coffee break. Well not really funny, pretty cool. I can relate to these lyrics on so many different levels :)

You'd probably have to take these lyrics in anyway you want to. They're pretty blunt, but vague at the same time, so you can apply it to a crazy career, school, a relationship, family, partying, robbing banks, etc. etc. My guess is since FTSK is a band, it's about being in the music business. Or perhaps they used to be drug dealers and are trying to rid themselves of their corrupt past :O

Jk about the sentence

All Time Low – Remembering Sunday Lyrics 18 years ago
I refuse to believe this song ends with the girl killing herself, or anyone committing suicide for that matter

Everyone's theory is great though :) Mine is just the simple: guy meets girl, they have their fun, and that's all it is to the girl--fun--, but the guy ends up falling in love, girl avoids/leaves guy. It's like, 'Jasey Rae' karma, or atleast to me

I mean, the whole "thousands of feet off the ground" and "home in the clouds" things fit being in heaven, but I think the clouds go along with the saying 'Your head in the clouds' and the thousands of feet? Well, maybe she's in a plane. Maybe it's just there.. but i'd think if someone DID die, it'd be more... devastating. So far, it's just gloomy to me

All-in-all.. great band, great song :)

All Time Low – Poppin' Champagne Lyrics 18 years ago
"Everything carleeloversilly said"
Word.

I also thought it was a song about random vents and stuff, and 'poppin champagne' brings it out, like you know, when you're drunk you'll say/do anything. I wonder if he was drunk when he wrote this. You never know :) Then again, I'll never know if this song is actually really really deep... unless I ask. Cause they're nice people, like carleeloversilly said :)

Agreed with most of them above :) I think it's pretty self-explanatory. It definitely shows how much they appreciate and care about their fans. I'm not from Maryland, but I can bet that ya'll feel sentimental and proud and a whole bonanza of feelings when you hear this song :,)

It makes me wanna dancejumprunsingflyshimmy-

Forever the Sickest Kids – Whoa Oh! (Me vs. Everyone) Lyrics 18 years ago
I guess it's about a girl taking over a lot of aspects of a person's life like their friends ("in highly low places, I'll stand up and push it, push it up" = get back on track with them, maybe?) Well, all in all..

Catchy as hell.

oops. I'm kinda bummed they canceled the 'Yo! Indie Rocks Rap' album, but it wouldve been competing with 'Punk Goes Crunk!' I guess..

Brighten – Darling Nicotine Lyrics 18 years ago
Hm, I suppose you can take this literally, and have it be about drugs, but my first thought was that it was about girl. Cliche, typical perspective--I know-- but that's how I chose to see it :)

It could be more about drugs with the line about "all of the kids just kept shaking", but then it could just be about frustrations in general, I.E. peer pressure, losing yourself, unrequited love, suicidal thoughts, growing up, poverty, failure, etc. He could also be talking about the crowds at concerts, like instead of feeling lonely ("suffering") you go out and rock for the music with society's growing tendency of 'feeling' more ("shaking, but not for me, because their hearts are bigger than they used to be"). You never know when Brighten is being blunt or deep; they're precarious and I love that :)

I think I just came up with a new perspective on this time, like maybe the musician is feeling let-down by the musical career he chose from complications and stuff, and being brought down with high expectations. People enjoy it, but he still feels as if he isn't 'Free', maybe? And music can be therapeutic, but it won't solve problems. Going through a hard time obviously, ah I need to stop thinking.

I'm actually fond of this song; it's kind of blues-ey and then the whole band punches their way through near the end. I think it's powerful, and stagnant at the same time, for those who just kind of feel 'nothing' at times.

Haha, on the right side of my screen, there's an advertisement for 'Pot Addiction Books' as i'm typing. Maybe that's a sign? Haha :)

Brighten never ceases to amaze me.

Everytime I try to decipher the meaning, I get new ideas everytime, so I'm kinda stuck there, haha. So I guess I'll just repeat myself, and say this song is beyond amazing in so many ways. Genius! Genius! Genius!

Yay, a song about falling in love :)

Brighten makes it seem so graceful, haha. I wonder if one of them was falling in love when they wrote this. I hope whenever my time comes, it'll be as magical as this song.

Thankyou, Brighten!

Brighten – We Chose The King Lyrics 18 years ago
I remember them explaining it in an interview, that the KING stands for the positive, good things in life, and the QUEEN represents the evil stuff (in general, no sexist opinions involved! Haha)

So I supposed i'm taking this literally by thinking that the song is talking about someone who chose to be positive, and is waiting for someone (or people in general) to make their decision.

I can't seem to make up my mind about the first verses though, about who "she" is when it goes "He thought the hours turned to minutes when she smiled." Is it a girl that's a source of positivity in his life? Or is the the 'Queen' making time go by too quick?

Great great great great song :)
