David Cook – The Time of My Life Lyrics 17 years ago
Wow. Uhm, as much as I adore Cook's voice...magic rainbows? Seriously?

I get the general idea of the song. It's basically saying what the title says, that this time in your life is the best. However, the 'magic rainbow' thing just throws it for me. He makes it as believable as he possibly could, I guess, and even the rainbow line doesn't seem so endearingly cheesetastic. Had a couple of the lines in this song been changed to something a little more gripping and a little less girly, it might actually be decent.

David Cook – Porcelain Lyrics 17 years ago
To the person above me, his previous stuff is all over Youtube, along with the david-cook.org boards. They have links that'll let you download the entire album, as well as some of his stuff with Axium.

This is probably one of my favorite's off of Analog Heart. I really wish I knew what the song meant though. Everytime I think I have an idea, I come up with something else. But overall, I think it's about realizing that the girl it's referring to has lost her luster in the relationship. Just my idea of it anyway.

David Cook – Always Be My Baby Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm by no means a Mariah Carey fan, but Cook's version of this song has me hooked. His voice is emotionally infectious on it.

And the meaning of the song is pretty self-explainatory.

Daughtry – All These Lives Lyrics 17 years ago
The first time I heard this song, I didn't listen a whole lot to the lyrics and my first thoughts were that the song was about suicide. Having heard the song countless times since then, I really think the song is, overall, about a child abduction/kidnapping.

'Posters hung on building walls of missing faces. Months go by without the calls, the clues, or traces.'

I think that suggests that even though search efforts have been made to find the child, there's been no clues or trace of where they might have been taken or who might have taken them.

'Shed the light on all the ones who never thought they would become--a father, mother asking why this world can be so cold.'

I think that further shows that a child went missing from the home. The family is trying to deal with all the emotions and pain and hell they're going through because their home has been shattered and is no longer whole.

Those are just a couple of examples that lead me to believe it's about a missing child and how the family is coping with their absence. Great song, a real solid from Daughtry and probably my favorite as far as the album goes.

second places never carry me home

i don't have the booklet for the CD, but i'm pretty sure it doesn't state the exact lyrics there anyhow.
