I think the song is about pessimism, running people away with attitude and meladrama, and a person just being an overall bastard and being so stuck in their ways. Maybe it's just me, but this song seems to be indirectly about Elvis Presley. But maybe the emotion of the song, or Elvis for that matter, is an archetype for some elaborate symbolism about the end result of fame and burning yourself out. Knowing the worst is coming and still meeting it halfway. Oh yeah, and the last line is "Don't let be buried away"... fits the motif |
