| Lisa Mitchell – Clean White Love Lyrics

No it's most definitely heroin. The idea of "pure china white" plays more into clean white love. Also lines like "let the medicine get to the bone" evoke imagery involving injection. All in all though I agree, the song is a metaphor for love. Heroin is the most addictive of all narcotics and she's saying this love is as addictive, that she's trying her best to create every excuse, but she keeps reaching back for that fix, even though it's clearly unhealthy. |

and now having read the previous posters comments I see most all of you are delusional. For fuck sakes people its not romantic and there are comments about it being ultimate devotion? Its about submission, the loss of oneself for another. |

The nearly midnight comment connects to Cinderella and the end of the fantasy, back to the drudgery and slavery, the romance is over. Its nearly midnight and all she wants is to be loved, but she isn't. She just cleans the floors and scrubs his shoes and takes his abuse and her horse turns back into a rat. |

Ive always seen it as a satirical take on the extremes so many women seem to be willing to go to just for a ring in a loveless marriage. I see zero romance in either her tone as so many are saying or the lyrics. |

I've always seen it as a commentary on the limits of language.Because one person 900 years ago said it was so and a few people around him agreed, it is now with out any fathom of a doubt a bear. Why? Because he said so. It's about the arbitrary nature of the words and names we use on a daily basis. |

To clarify I mean that its not comparing the two since religion and mythology are one in the same. |

It's not comparing religion and mythology, the song is about the ridiculousness of the fact that while water is not wine, and virgins dont give birth these stories are regarded as fact and control countries and guide peoples lives while other religions with equally ridiculous stories have turned into pieces of literature and fiction for the entertainment of children.

| Robert Pattinson – Never Think Lyrics

I wish everyone would stop thinking of Rob in association with Edward, and stop immediately connecting his lyrics to Twilight. He's said numerous times that he wasnt a large fan of the books, and I sincerely doubt he could sing something so raw and so passionately if he was singing about a topic he really had very little interest in.

I love that 6 years later this song is still just as popular, if not more so. It's absolutely beautiful. |

As so many have said the song is definitely about a love that in not actualized. She's living in a fantasy world and is obsessive over this boy/man. I see it as a somebody she works with, somebody she maybe closes shop with or whatever. As the night wraps up they chat and they click so well and she's getting more out of it than he is.
Anyway regardless of what it means, it's my favourite of her songs. Absolutely brilliant. I love it. |

| City and Colour – Sometimes (I Wish) Lyrics

Personally I don't think it questions faithfulness. Just the strength of their feelings for one another. I think we all wonder what will become of our relationships when all of our stories are already known, when all of our adventures are already discussed. Where does the conversation go? And without that communication where does your relationship go? We all need things to talk about and the weather just isn't enough. If you lost that communication would your heart still beat as strong?
We all think our love is the purest and strongest thing on the planet, but it isn't until we face challenges that we realize how fragile it can be. I think he's simply asking if that love is everything it appears to be on paper. |

This song was playing the day after my bf and I broke up and it crushed my soul. It's really powerful when you're in that place. We got back together shortly after :P |

It feels as if it plays on the dependency of relationships. How you need somebody so much, that at that moment where you feel as if you'll soon be all alone, everything before them looks and feels so bleak. That sense of returning to what once was, even though at the time it seemed so welcoming, now feels so cold.
You know it's wrong, that things have to end, even though the outcome is going to be so painful. When he mentions that the floors are all collapsing, yet he's begging to be free, even with that fear of what's to come, that fear of what he's about to lose, he still knows that he has to get out. |

The song is about emotional or mental abuse more so than physical. It almost feels as if the relationship itself is unhealthy and it's abusive in that respect more than any other. Abusive in the sense that it's limiting them.
I 100% agree with Charmsxx reasonings as well. |
