Meg & Dia – Tell Mary Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is based off a book called Mary that was written by Vladimir Nabokov.I'm not sure but when it says "You're gonna leave her tonight.
She sat up with her eyes wide.
You fell in love with a girl you knew.
You've come to say goodbye.
You're gonna leave her tonight.
Under a cheap July sky. "
I think it's refering to a certain part in the book.
This guy is dating this girl and his past lover Mary ends up coming back into the picture. So he goes over to his current lovers house and tells her he fell in love with someone else.Which I think is the
"She sat up with her eyes wide.
You fell in love with a girl you knew.
And you've come to say goodbye. "
Cause in the book he just flat out says he's come to say goodbye cause he's in love with someone else.I could be wrong cause I haven't gotten through the book yet so it could refer to a different part of the book.Anyways hope this wasn't to jumbled sounding. You guys should read the book it's pretty good!!
