This song has a whimsical but haunting quality. I keep listening to it alternating between images of a canyon as a metaphor for the streets of New York City and a literal canyon that is the refuge that the people being sung about in the song have flocked to to escape the city and get back to a simpler way of life. Regardless, I think this song is great. She is the best. |
