| I read somewhere that this entire album is about drugs which would suggest that this is about heroin "She will enter through your vein" and "the flame I need to heat the silver" certainly seem to suggest this | |

| Honestly, what I'd love right now is for everyone who's already commented, good or bad, on the song to repost as if the song had nothing to do with Twilight. I mean the song wasn't written for Twilight, it was written 6 months ago about a personal experience. It was sitting on the side in the studio, the band were asked if they'd supply a song, and they gave them this!! | |

All of the negative comments above are EXACTLY why there aren't many bands like Muse and simultaneously what makes them so great. Muse are my favourite band ever and IMO the reason for this is because of their variety. I mean, who here, would have listened to Showbiz and expected an album like BHAR to crop up. The different genre beats in songs like City of Delusion are so fresh in a music scene where everything is starting to cross-over and sound the same. The fact that they have the BALLS to make a song like this or undisclosed desires or, hell, the Exogenesis symphony, regardless of the inevitable fan backlash is what makes them so awesome. Sellout?! A band like Muse, who tour the WORLD regularly, have racked up 5 awesome albums would never need to sellout. I think after such an amazing career so far, they've earned the right to express a little creative freedom and enjoy themselves. As for the track, hated it at first, gave it another try and now genuinely like it, not a favourite but I for one love the melodramatic lyrics, only over the top because of how personal it is to Matt (see previous posts) and cheesy?! This is a band whose trademark is over the top lyrics, look at the album-wide themes of BHAR and Resistance!! Instrumentation and melody are pretty simple and standard fare but who cares, music is music and sometimes simple and predictable works just fine, thats how things become cliche'd anyway: they work!! |

The 'original' lyrics for this song add to the whole pearly gates / religious meaning to this song: God loves his children Thats why he kills them, yeah I was really surprised when I found out that these were the original lyrics as its such a bold statement but very un-radiohead to remove/tone down lyrics. I mean, sure, the yeah has been turned into an ironic yeah (right) but I always find myself singing 'thats why he kills them' when I sing along to it |

| Sorry to burst your bubble but the chasing pavements bit aint as romantic as it seems. I'm far too bashful to post the true meaning of that term but look it up in urbandictionary.com and you'll see what I mean!! | |
