Flyleaf – Set Apart This Dream Lyrics 16 years ago
A little more about the inspiration for this song:

"An avid reader, Flyleaf guitarist Sameer Bhattacharya was so moved by Victor Hugo's 'Les Miserables' and John Eldredge's 'Wild at Heart' that he wrote a song about them. The result is 'Set Apart This Dream,' which appears on 'Memento Mori,' the band's sophomore effort that debuted at 8 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

"I'd say six years ago, I read 'Wild at Heart' by John Eldredge, and then like a couple years after that I read 'Les Miz' by Victor Hugo," Bhattacharya told Noisecreep via telephone from New York City. "I think those books could have gone together. It's about men stepping up and women feeling like ... I don't know. It was really amazing about how those books came together. It really spoke to me.""

Flyleaf – Christmas Song Lyrics 17 years ago
This is a pretty straitforward song. Everybody has got the idea.

This song is on the Music as a Weapon EP. Originally, only 2,000 copies of this EP were made, and they sold out on the tour. I paid $100 to get my copy on eBay. But it appears that it has been reprinted and is for sale through their webstore for $5. Do I regret spending $100 on my copy? NO! haha The Christmas Song alone was worth that much!

To all of those people who are wanting to get ahold of these (rare) songs, I have all of Flyleaf's songs listed on this website with the exception of Life and Have We Lost, which haven't actually been recorded to my knowledge. So if you would like me to email them to you, my email is katiedid1991@hotmail.com. Just put something in the subject line about wanting Flyleaf songs so I don't think your email is junk. ;)

As far as this song goes, I think everybody pretty much has it right. Great song with amazing lyrics.

Flyleaf – So I Thought Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm pretty sure this song is about Lacey's (lead singer) short marriage to a man. They got married very young and soon got a divorce. So, I'm pretty sure that you are all right about how it is abouta breakup, but this is the breakup in specific.

And I remember hearing once that Choris Romance is a band. Not sure if thats true, but maybe>

Between the Trees – A Time For Yohe Lyrics 17 years ago
The whole first verse is actually taken strait out of Renee's diary.

To me, this song is just about getting out of those extremely difficult places in life, where you just want to give up. The second verse is a friend just offering help.

This one is the hardest for me to figure out, I think. But I know that it has something to do with war.

After reading through these lyrics again, I'm pretty sure its saying that through every heartbreak in your life, and through Satah chasing you down, God is the only source of rescue.

The Classic Crime – The Drink in My Hand Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm pretty sure this one is about a girlfriend or wife, and how the writer is feeling like he isn't good enough for her. He loves her a lot and thinks that she deserves somebody better than him.

In the last verse, it talks about how she said to go and follow his dreams, I'm assuming of being on the road. And he tells her that she is his only dream. I pretty much think that is one of the sweetest lines ever. ha

I'm still unsure of the analogy to 'the drink in my hand' though.

The Classic Crime – The Test Lyrics 17 years ago
This song, I believe, is about how being in a band and being on the road all the time just plain wears you out.

In the first verse, the writer is driving the tour van or bus, and its late at night. He can only see as far as the headlights reach. He is tired. He wants to fall asleep and wake up just late enough that he will get in a crash and die so that he can go to heaven, but he just keeps going.

The chorus is about how they are getting a taste of fame, but that they are also continually being tested to see if fame is what they really want.

The second verse is about glancing to the side of the road and seeing all the trucks parked at the truck stops, and wishing he could be with them. The lights illuminating them made them look empty, and he feels empty inside.

And I think the bridge is talking about how they are on the road for themselves, and it is hurting those that they love.

These are just my thoughts.
