| Moby Grape – Someday Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
It is a disgrace that this song only has one comment! Moby Grape are one of the most underrated bands EVER. Someday, I believe, is their best song. When Bob Mosley's voice comes in at 1:49 it is simply breathtaking. |

| The Rolling Stones – Let It Bleed Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I used to think this said "When you need a little cocai- ...sympathy" like he has started to say cocaine, but corrected hismelf. i always thought that was pretty funny, until I realised those weren't even the actual lyrics. |

| The Beatles – A Day in the Life Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This is one of the greatest songs ever. "He didn't notice that the lights had changed" is such a sad line... |

| The Beatles – Because Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The little bit at the start is very similar to the start of Radiohead's "A Wolf at the Door". It just shows how even today's best bands borrow (even steal) from great bands like the Beatles. |

| The Dandy Warhols – Genius Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
There is something incredibly cool about the Dandy Warhols, especially in their debut "Dandys Rule, OK". There is something so fun about this song, even with the self loathing nature of the lyrics |

| The Cooper Temple Clause – Music Box Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I love this song! The build up of the drums then the amazing riff at the end. This would be amazing live... What a shame they broke up. |

| The Velvet Underground – After Hours Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
John Cale's departure may have taken away their experimental influence, but this song shows that the Velvet Underground were still an amazing band. THIS SONG IS TOO SHORT! |

| Radiohead – Exit Music (For a Film) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This is Radiohead's best song. The "now we are one in everlasting peace" part is fucking incredible. |

| Andrew Bird – Sovay Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
These are incredibly intelligent and powerful lyrics. The “para-success” may be the capture of Saddam Hussein, (which really did nothing in the fight against “terrorism”), and the line “a feeling like you've been here before” is referring to the Vietnam war, which was another controversial war which many believed to be unnecessary. The “board of trustees” is the US government. “Blowing us back to the seventies” is again referencing the war in Vietnam, as is “Ride of the Valkyries” which was played in a famous bombing scene in Apocalypse Now (which was an anti-Vietnam war film). Comparing the Iraq war to the Vietnam is the major theme of this song, and Andrew Bird’s lyrics are very wry, but at the same time very sad. |
