So many of these lyrics are wrong. Maybe everyone is listening to a different version than me? I don't know... the version I listen to isn't live, so I'm pretty sure we're all hearing the same version. I've noticed that a lot of people think the "I followed suit and laid out on my back, imagine that. A million hours left to think of you and think of that" is about sex... what? That's so shallow. In the music video she's laid out on her back talking to a shrink. You see a shrink for an hour at a time. She's talking about how she has something to talk about in therapy. |

I think that this song, along with most other circa survive songs, are so vague because he wants us to find our own meaning that we can relate to. I can fit every single lyrics of this song into my idea of what it's about.... about someone you're in a relationship lying. But, I'm sure if you listened closely enough, you could get every word to fit into your idea of what this song is about. I think when they wrote this, they had their own personal meaning behind it, but they made it to abstract because they wanted you to form yours, not theirs. |

I think this song is about a guy who is in a band, on tour, with a girlfriend back home that he is having problems with. "If you call me at all, don't tell me that I'm ordinary." To me, that means that if his girlfriend is even going to bother calling him not to tell him he is ordinary by breaking up with him. "Cause I won't be passing you, please don't leave." Means that he isn't scheduled to go anywhere near home on his tour, and for her to hold out longer before she gives up. "And if you tell your listening to everything you read." He's saying not to believe the rumors she hears about him or the band while they are on tour. "Turn off this light and call my name" She is going to bed without him. "Don't talk, just ride." Don't think about all of their problems, just ride it out until he comes home. "Who wouldn't let you be all about, about me" Someone is trying to talk her into leaving him. "I'm only trying to work this out" He's only trying to follow his dream. "I hear you breathing on the line Oh baby girl I'm not your type I leave you hurting every night So I won't be coming back" They are talking on the phone, and he says he's not her type because she can't handle long distance relationships. He leaves her hurting every night because he isn't there, so he says he doesn't want her to go through the pain of it anymore, so to just forget him. "Who wouldn't let me be all alone" His friends tell him that he needs to stay with her. "Who wouldn't let you scream ohh into a soft pillow" I have no idea what this means =) l0l. "I'm such an animal And baby honestly these teeth won't let you go" He's an animal because he knows it hurts her being with him, but he loves her too much to let her go. I think it's just talking about how his feelings go back and forth when he's away from her. One minute he wants her to hold on, the next he doesn't want to hurt her anymore, and then he's back to wanting her to hold on. I could be totally and completely off. This is just my view on it.
