Can nobody else see that this song is just a carbon copy of One? The pattern is the same, the solos are damn close, this song = an attempt to reclaim the success they had with One...just like Unforigiven II (and III) are attempts to try and make money off of the original. This is not "reborn" Metallica...this is still commercial sellout Metallica...idiots. |

Unbelievably great lyrics...its rare anymore for an artist to write a meaningful song where none of the verses are repeated lyrics. The meaning of the song is quite obvious, but the lyrics are actually quite obscure. |

The song has nothing to do with being cheated on...the name of the song did come from a women's deodorant called Teen Spirit. When Kurt was "dating" Tobi Vail from Bikini Kill, they were partying at kurts apartment one night, Kurt and Tobi went to fool around in Kurt's bedroom but at this time none of the people at the party knew they were together except for Krist. When they came out, a friend of Tobi's wrote in big letters on the wall: "Kurt smells like Teen Spirit!". That's where the title comes from, but it doesnt really have that much to do with the meaning of the song... |

"this is my favorite nirvana song. but this song means a helluva different to me than the obvious comments on this website. To me everytime i hear this song i can picture my senior year playing football before the biggest game in the country ( no shitting you) we were #2 and they were #1 in PA and this was for league championship. anyway back to the song. i remember being in the locker room and this song was on our psych tape somebody made and all you could hear other than the song was cleats tapping to the beat of this song. no one said a word it was eerie how quiet everybody was. than we lost! and it was my fault. but anyway i will forever link this song to that game. FTB!"
To the person that posted this: People like you are the reason Kurt killed himself. He wrote several songs about how he hated your type. The fact that this great (although not close to greatest) Nirvana song is being used for such mindless, unintelligent nonsense is an atrocity. That is all. |
