I think I have a good idea as to what this song is about. I've went to the ghetto before, and I went with a close friend of mine, he told me as long as I stayed close to him, no one would mess with me while we were in his territory, and once we got out of his territory, I could let my guard down and relax. I think this song means the same. The singer is basically saying... "We can go to my territory, but if you want to do this then stay by my side and I'll protect you and keep you safe, or we can go some where peaceful, I'll do anything you want." He's giving her a decision, if she wants to see where he comes from then he will take her to his territory and use his experience to keep her safe, but if she wants to go somewhere else, he'll take her because it's what she wants to do. |
