| Dream Theater – Panic Attack Lyrics | 9 years ago |
|
First dream theater song I've ever heard. Good times. Anyway, I think this song speaks for itself. It's about a panic attack. |
|
| The Showdown – Bring It Down Lyrics | 11 years ago |
|
"Live free and disobedient Respect only to God" I think that pretty much sums it up. |
|
| The Showdown – Take Me Home Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I think this one speaks for itself. A man is homesick for the south. | |
| Downface – Alone Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Similar progression, yes. | |
| Alter Bridge – Watch Your Words Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
There's definitely a warning that you should better yourself, or 'the consequences will never be the same.' Each line of the verses is basically an instruction and a warning of what will happen if you don't do what is said. In the prechorus, he uses some imagery that some would argue a religious value to, and in reality, to each their own. In the chorus, I'm pretty sure this is him that he feels it's too late to better himself. |

| Alter Bridge – One Day Remains Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
See, I could get into an enormous debate, but I'll just leave it at this. Religion isn't an insult to creative genius. If you think about it, even if you believe the Bible is false, it still would be an incredibly creative storybook, now wouldn't it? And with that, I'm off. |
|
| Alter Bridge – Find The Real Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Agreed, but at the same time, you have to remember that Brian, Mark, and Myles all had a religious upbringing. Sometimes it comes out, even if only as a message of hope. Alter Bridge isn't a religious band, but then again, neither was Triumph, Creed, or Trouble, and it still came out in their work. |
|
| Creed – Silent Teacher Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Best 'new Creed' track yet. People argue the whole 'are or aren't Christian' debate all over, but there are some undeniable Jesus undertones on the album, and I've sat the fence on that debate for the whole run of their career. All in all, though, this is probably the best Full Circle track. Has a lot of old Creed sound mixed with a rippin' solo courtesy of Mark. |
|
| Creed – Inside Us All Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Probably my favorite Creed track ever. To me it seems that it's dealing with a deep deep depression, trying to cope with the down in your life. Even when getting ready to give up, Scott (The Narrator of the story) reminds himself of good times and inner peace, be it through family, religion, or whatever floats your boat, and this inner peace helps him carry on even when things seem to be falling to pieces around him. Needless to say, great tune. Good to hear Mark rip on an old Creed track. |
|
| The Mayfield Four – Loose Cannon Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Great song. Anyway, as far as I can tell it's about an abused child. 'Out back behind the shed That's where his Daddy taught him to hate the best The education of the heavy hand' Talks about being beaten as far as I can tell. |
|
| The Mayfield Four – Eden Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Breakup song with best wishes, oddly enough. | |
| The Mayfield Four – Believe Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
You forgot the verse inbetween 2 and 3. I believe getting close is a danger to broken souls the risk is never worth the gain. |
|
| The Mayfield Four – Backslide Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| As far as I can tell it's about someone crawling back to a relationship that changed them for the worse and Myles is trying to tell him not to. | |
| Finger Eleven – Falling On Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Interesting take. Everything's about a girl or drugs nowadays, so it's cool to see a different take. | |
| Anberlin – Younglife Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I don't think so either, but remember, even Christian bands can be honest about their feelings. Just look at Haste the Day's "Perfect Night." | |
| Creed – The Song You Sing Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Also, I might add that at about 3:35 he says 'It's the life you bring' along with the whole song you sing thing. | |
| Creed – The Song You Sing Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Easily one of the strongest songs on the new CD. I think 'does the song you sing have enough meaning?' is kinda a metaphor for living a good life and inspiring others through your actions, being the change you want to make, so to speak. |
|
| Creed – Bread Of Shame Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Hmm. Interesting. I always kinda saw it as being about people essentially selling their souls to the industry for fame, and that they'll go to any length to be famous. "Just promise me fame, I survive on the bread of shame." |
|
| Alter Bridge – One Day Remains Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| And that's coming from an unbiased perspective. I don't look for that in songs. Sometimes you can just tell. | |
| Alter Bridge – One Day Remains Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Neither was Trouble, neither was Kansas, neither was Triumph, neither was Norman Greenbaum. People who aren't in a strictly Christian band can still sing about things with religious undertones. That's not exactly unheard of. | |
| Speck – Conventional Lover Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Sounds like a nerd fell in love. | |
| Alice in Chains – Them Bones Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think the song is about being alone and feeling like you could die at any moment. | |
| Stevie Ray Vaughan – Life By The Drop Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Strange. I've always interpreted this as a love song and about not being able to see the one you love, but the alcohol addiction idea works too. | |
| Creed – My Sacrifice Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I dunno. I mean, I know Creed talks about religion in most of their songs, but this just sounds like a love song to me. | |
| Silverchair – Anthem for the Year 2000 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I remember how everything was changing in 2000. Too bad it was for the worse. |
|
| Līve – The Dolphin's Cry Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is definately about sex, but it's from a much more romantic perspective than other 'sex songs.' | |
| Megadeth – A Tout le Monde (Set Me Free) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This reminds me a lot of the song "Carry Me Down" by Demon Hunter. IT has a really similar meaning, too. | |
| Few Left Standing – Identity Crisis Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song, as far as I can tell, is about dictatorship. Some of those people really think they are God xD. | |
| Few Left Standing – Educate the Ignorant Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is about double standards, specifically dealing with Christianity. | |
| Creed – Higher Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| The vocals sound like Eddie Vedder's. That's about the only connection. The actual musical direction is plenty different, plus, Eddie's WAAAYY more twisted than Scott is. | |
| Creed – Higher Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Oops, I meant to say that to Newfoundfinch | |
| Creed – Higher Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| You say that like there aren't any secular post-grunge bands out there. | |
| Creed – My Own Prison Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| That's exactly what I got. | |
| Creed – My Own Prison Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
As far as I can tell, this song is about going to hell "a court is in session, a verdict is in no appeal on the docket today just my own sin" Narrator being judged by God "the walls are cold and pale the cage made of steel screams fill the room alone i drop and kneel silence now the sound my breath the only motion around demons cluttering around my face showing no emotion shackled by my sentence expecting no return here there is no penance my skin begins to burn" Describing Hell "i cry out to god seeking only his decision gabriel stands and confirms ive created my own prison" Gabriel(The messenger of God) tells him that what happened was his own fault. Yes, I missed some spots, but it's hard to interpret songs like this. |
|
| Demon Hunter – Infected Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"I actually believe the song is about love sickness. I just don't feel like explaining it, though. Sorry to those that care to hear." I've thought the same thing. I don't know if I could describe what exactly what hits me there though. |
|
| Megadeth – A Tout le Monde (Set Me Free) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Yea. This song is definately about death and separation. My friend, Andrew Ryan, God rest his soul, killed himself to this song. | |
| David Crowder Band – We Won't Be Quiet Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Sweet little song here. As a Nuge lover, I can't help but love it. | |
| Crush 40 – What I'm Made of... Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is basically from the 1st person saying, "Go ahead and try! Nothing can stop me and I'll just plow right through your ass." | |
| Kansas – Carry on Wayward Son Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is about someone being tortured by life and finally being done (dead) and being told by God that he doesn't have to endure the bullshtuff anymore. | |
| Skillet – Open Wounds Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| On jesusfreakhideout.com, in an interview with John Cooper, he said this song was about his rough times with his dad. | |
| Crush 40 – I Am... All of Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song, to me, is about figuring out the truth behind yourself, and choosing whether you're going to fight for or against the heroes of our time. | |
| DragonForce – Through the Fire and Flames Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| To me, this song signifies pressing on through the pain and hell of life, and fight a good fight and kick the ass of evil. | |
