i agree with geeksneedlove! some of you people are just so infuriating. Omg she wants to sing a song about something political and that actually has meaning rather than more about Nick Jonas. Look at her her main audience is, 9-14 yr old girls. this is a demographic that like miley says hears all about global warming and going green, but i'd lay bets that 90% of them don't really know what it all means (i'm not saying that you don't know what global warming is etc. what i'm saying is that hear here these buzz words and you know the gist of what it's about, but you don't know it all, in fact most adults wouldn't really know what it all means) Miley's telling her fans that just because we're young doesn't mean that their voice doesn't count, the powers that be may not like a kid telling them they need to actually do something for once, and may belittle them because of their age, but their voice counts just as much, and these are issues they should have a say in. I actually really respect miley for putting it on her cd. It's not as pop as her other stuff, it doesn't really fit in with most of the other songs, and it may not market that well, but it's a message she obviously wants to get out to her fans and the powers that be, and she felt it was important to have it on her cd. (or her dad thought it would help not pigeon hole her, either way it gets it out there) And as someone who's 9 yr old sisters fav song is 'i kissed a girl' i'm glad she has 1 role model singing about something that matters. And ye don't bag her out for it sounding like it was written by 15 yr old, most of her 'Miley' songs are written by a 15 yr old (her). She doesn't have experience writing this sort of song of course its gonna be less polished. |

| Miley Cyrus – Fly on the Wall Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Ok while I'll admit that aspects of this song could relate to the paparazzo, it seems more likely to me (from the tone of the song) that the song is about a guy. It seems to me that its about this guy who she isn't actually dating and with the way he's acting she never will Basically she's saying- He wishes he could know all about her, what makes her tick etc, so he could win her over... He wishes that he could be a fly on the wall, so he could know who she talks to when he's not around, if she flirts with other guys, what she likes in guys... But he should know by now that if they were dating, it would be him and only him, she'd never cheat, and he shouldn't need to know what she does every second of the day to know that, he shouldn’t need to be a fly on the wall... What she needs is some communication between the two of them, because as long as he's hearing about what she's doing through other people he'll never get the true story… He needs to learn to trust her, and while he's acting like this she can’t trust him and they can’t be together And on the Rock Lobster thing, I can’t hear the similarities but the way ‘fly on the wall’ is said definitely reminds me of another song I just don’t know which one :) |

| Bowling for Soup – Punk Rock 101 Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Ok personally, I don't get why people are going on about how this song is about Bowling For Soup thinking they're punk, or even worse, agreeing with the band saying they wish they could skip Punk Rock 101 to! This song is making fun of what punk culture has become! It seems to me that the guys, are making fun of the fact that a sub-culture based around anarchy, individuality, and all round hating authority, has become the type of thing, that has rules and regulations about how you can be a member. the song is basically making fun of the fact that punk rock has become so structured, that there's such a thing as 'punk rock 101'. the fact that some people are going "i wouldnt mind being saved from punk rock 101 so i can wear these clothes without feeling like a poser", just proves the ridiculousness of the sub-culture that bowling for soup is making fun of. don't get me wrong i like punk music (well old punk music, like pre 1984), but i totally see what bowling for soups saying. or i could have gotten it completely wrong. |
