| Arcade Fire – Modern Man Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I like your interpretation on technology, I had one similar, but I'm fairly certain it fails to match the band's meaning: - that it's about technological advances, and how the modern, average man just waits for the fruits of others' labor. We have see the progress of man and feel that we can just sit back and let them do all the work, pushing forward humanity's limits, while contributing nothing themselves. But then we have such high hopes for our future gifts that we can't understand why we haven't been given hover-crafts and the like, not realizing that if we all pushed with them, we could. "So I wait in line, I'm a modern man *[waiting to be handed new inventions] And the people behind me, they can't understand *[why the line is slow- progress isn't as fast as they want it to be] Makes me feel like Something don't feel right" ... "In my dream I was almost there And you pulled me aside and said you're going nowhere They say we are the chosen few But we're wasted [either being a waste (not contributing) or being on drugs, and not contributing] And that's why we're still waiting" again, this is just a thought I had, pretty sure its "wrong" |

I think its about man's (especially America's) thought that they can control nature. They give many horrible things happening when nature and man meet. We try to say that we are so different and that we can surpass, but the song hints that we are causing much trouble in the world, and that we resemble nature and it us. I think the long stem rose is the beauty of nature, and the mounted antlers are man's exclamation that he has concurred nature. That picture has the antlers seemingly dominate the rose, but as one can imagine, the rose has a strength all its own. It has a power in its presents and is the centerpiece. |

| Chad Vangaalen – Red Hot Drops Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| it might be relating romantic embraces with the imagery of a vampire feeding. That the couple feed off each other, and they are penetrating one another's barriers. The only reason I' thinking of this is because of the red kissing people in the video. | |
| Chad Vangaalen – Flower Gardens Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| its a depressing song about the futility of a short existence. If we want anything important we have to fight, and even if we get it, before long we die. | |
| Never Heard Of It – Finger On the Trigger Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I'm not sure whether he is pointing the gun at someone and that's why their hands are up (maybe at the "corner store"), or if its an attempt at suicide and someone has their hands up as an instinctive calming response trying to talk him down. He seems to think that "they" have brainwashed him and the person he is talking to, but presumably everyone is under "their" control (society/media). That's what I think but I can't really make much out of the rest. Good song though. |

I got outta the song that we should try, because living like others, in fear of failure, is no way to live at all. We all are told what to be and what to do and what's important (the here and the now). But, what we really need to try for is the imagined better world to be if we try to get there. We need to try our hardest to create change instead of living of fear - instilled by the previous generation. Even if we fall, we will fall with the infinitely more important intentions of peace and happiness. Thats what i thought but some of the more beaten down youth interpretations are really good |

| cLOUDDEAD – Dead Dogs Two Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| ya Gibby has got the beginning part right. the dogs are just laying down but guarding the coliseum - which has an whole in the fence which people try to sneak in. My interpretation of the rest: they use the dead dogs are a metaphor for what we want to be. We want to be the focus of attention, but the way we get there is the mutilation of ourselves. its like a kid who acts to gain the notice of his neglectful parents. We must seem harmed (dead dogs) to gain any kind of notice and any love. We all want people to be with us so we scar and hurt ourselves so people will feel sorry enough to take notice. That is what I feel anyway. | |
| Sum 41 – Open Your Eyes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i'm pretty sure i kn ow what the song is saying; The world is really just a huge illusion. Everything we see is meaningless, except for the relationships we have with other human beings. The singer says he's confused but thinks that nothing else matters but his relationship with others (mainly the person he is disconnected with - probably a girlfriend). "its had to believe right now, this seems to be real" he's saying that its hard to believe that what we see has to meaning and no significance but if you "open your eyes , and understand this isn't real " you can see that what really matters is the people in our lives and noting else. We need to forget other factor that cause greed and selfishness to see the world for what it is: an illusion (only we are real) | |
