| The Postal Service – Recycled Air Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| to me its describing the intimate moments you share with someone when you realize your beginning to love the other person. i think specifically this one is in bed.... haha | |
| Elliott Smith – Between the Bars Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| from my perspective the song sounds as if he's personifying addiction or alcohol and soothing the person addicted. it all starts with depression and soon your addicted to something that once calmed you. | |
| Arcade Fire – Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| i think its about how young love is... you forget about everyone else. your only focus is love and that person. | |

| Grizzly Bear – Marla Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| to me personally, it kind of reminds me how you sort of lose your pure self after the world around you has molded you and for the rest of your life you try desperately trying to find that pure-self again. I don't know, I'm probably completely off, but thats how I felt after listening to it. | |
| John Lennon – God Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| i think hes just saying that what had happend with the beatles and everything was like a dream and that dream is now over. hes has moved on and i think in this song hes trying to tell the fans that its time for them to move on as well. | |
| Ingrid Michaelson – Die Alone Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
edited lyrics. (: I woke up this morning with a funny taste in my head. Spackled some butter over my whole grain bread. Something tastes different, maybe it's my tongue. Something tastes different, suddenly I'm not so young. I'm just a stranger, even to myself. A re-arranger of the proverbial bookshelf. Don't be a fool girl, tell him you love him. Don't be a fool girl, you're not above him. I never thought I could love anyone but myself. Now I know I can't love anyone but you. You make me think that maybe I won't die alone. Maybe I won't die alone. Kiss the boys as they walk by, call me their baby. But little do they know, I'm just a maybe. Maybe my baby will be the one to leave me sore. Maybe my baby will settle the score. I never thought I could love anyone but myself. Now I know I can't love anyone but you. But you make me think that maybe I won't die alone. Maybe I won't die alone. What have I become? Something soft and really quite dumb. Because I've fallen, oh, 'cause I've fall- fallen, oh 'cause I've fall-fall-fallen So far away from the place where I started from. I never thought I could love anyone. I never thought I could love anyone. I never thought I could love anyone. But you.... But you.... But you.... But you.... But you .... but you ...make me think that maybe I won't die alone. Maybe I won't die alone. |

| Arcade Fire – Broken Window Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think this song my be referencing towards the invisible children...maybe im way off? it just seems so much like it. these children in uganda are suffering every day because they are being abducted by an army in which will either force them into sex slavery, be taken and brainwashed to be apart of what they call the LRA (Lord Resistance Army), or just to kill them. i think there are numerous references to this... "Deep in the past, far in the future time" --not only could this possibly mean the detrimental long term affects of these children but it could also be in reference to the war. it started in the early 80s and to this day there is no end. "They say they know me but they only know my name They're through asking me questions, I ain't gonna learn to sing" --possibly could be in reference to the brainwashing that takes place "If they want it they can take it, they don't need no reason why" --it could mean the childs life? "They bound my eyes and they bound my hands Where they're gonna take me now? No one understands" --obviously abduction. i think the "no one understands" could be referencing to the young and innocent minds that are incapable of understanding what is happening. "Lay the hands upon me now, it's midnight blue They didn't know me and they didn't know you, no, no" --possibly referencing towards the sex slavery because it kind of seems like its an invasion of personal space. it could possibly be about the abuse they may undergo from the LRA as well. "Now reduced to hide in the dark when they came for you" --this is a fairly common fact about the invisible children, every night they have to travel miles to hide away from the LRA. other possible references: "Woe unto them if they touch a hair on your head" i dont mean to make it political, its just it reminded me so much of it. maybe im being too specific, it could be just referring to abduction and/or sex slavery in general. |
