I just discovered "Bright Eyes" and I've listened to a couple of songs in repeat lately....Connor's ability to write so simple yet deep and poetic lyrics amaze me....for me this song is about the craziness in our world....everywhere you look there are wars..."Another century spent pointing guns At anything that moves"...and the line " I didn't think of heaven much until we lay him in the ground" could be a reference to a friend, who died as a soldier...."Don't be a criminal in this police state, you better shop and eat and procreate" could mean...that the state is telling us what to do....not to think o about our critical situation (the thread of a nuclear war: i set my watch to the atomic clock) but to just live like there's nothing to worry about...which is not the right thing to do....the next lines " But I can't help it now Looking for faces in the clouds I've got some friends I barely see But we're all planning to meet We'll lay in bags as dead as leaves All together for eternity" could mean...that he has a lot of dead friends and that he thinks we'll all end up dead like them... But that's just my opinion |

I can relate to this song very well, coldplay sings the songs of my heart. I don't know how they do it, they're just great ...no that's an understatement, they're brilliant!!!! I think this song is telling the story of two friends that were close to getting something more than friends but then something happened that broke their friendship and he/she looked for excuses and for warning signs as in I haven't forgiven you yet but the truth is that he/ she is deeply in love with the other person and misses that person so much. |

This song is one of the best songs ever written!!! It gives me a wonderful feeling of heartache everytime I listen to it... I think it's about a girl and a boy who used to be friends and the girl is in love with the guy but he never realized that he had feelings for her too until they had a fight and she's gone. And now he wants to make it up to her and confess his love to her by singing this song.... coldplay's simply the best :) |

one of the nicest songs from death cab for cutie in my opinion. It makes me calm after a stressy day. It's a very difficult song to interpret and I change my mind every time I hear it. For me this song has two parts. The first " so burn it down, till the ember smokes on the ground..." is about someone you really loved and who doesn't love you back or ever did and the second part is the rest of the song. You find someone that loves u back and u love him too but it's strange because usually love is complicated for you..."Then you find the love that's true But you don't know what now to do Because the chase is all you know" - so you're unsure what to do next because you always dreamed of havin someone who really loves u but u never really had it before and then with every relationship comes a routine and u get bored and u think every other relationship is better than yours : " And all you see Is where else you could be When you're at home" So you cange and your partner is breaking up with you and you sort of feel sad but not really because you sort of miss " the chase" But thats just my interpretation... =) I think everyones interesting, cuz everyone "feels" the song in a different way... |
