| Hozier – Shrike Lyrics

So, some of the lyrics as of today are a bit off, but I think in order to understand the song, you need to understand what a shrike is. A shrike is a species of songbird that looks and sings innocently enough but is known for hunting and killing its prey (small lizards, rodents, and insects) by skewering it on thorns and other spiky objects, like barbed wire. Having said that, Hozier is singing about a lost relationship that fills him with regret. He realizes that for whatever reasons he or they had in ending the relationship, there was something visceral and deep about their bond, and he hopes that his partner can envision him being reborn in his next life as a shrike, who is beholden to the sharp, eerie, and dark thorn (the partner) it uses to literally feed itself, and in a way figuratively soothe his regret. |

Nicki is sick, and I love that line, but I think you're confused with "Putting the pussy on the pedestal" from 40 year old virgin |

| John Mayer – Who Says Lyrics

How is this song not real? To give credit to John, this song may in fact be more real considering that he is essentially asking who says I can't do what I like? Which happens to include writing songs about getting stoned (which by the way doesn't always have to do with marijuana or any other drugs, being stoned or high can be a state of mind for many based on a situation).
P.S. This song should be your "blow your head" theme above anything else he's written considering you're saying he should stick with his prior stuff. "Who says I can't songs write about getting stoned?" (Pepedosreis obviously says). And Waiting on the World to Change isn't a "money maker" theme. I would actually say that writing about something bigger than yourself is more "noble" than writing about egocentric realizations, whether you make money off of it or not. |

I really like this song. I like the bluesy swing rhythm with the gospel-like background. As for the meaning, it's pretty self-explanatory if you can read the lyrics, if you can't, then I don't know how you got to this webpage. |

Nice song. It's pretty easy to see that he's a fan of when they're undressed, but there's also a great feeling of "undressed" meaning more than just clothes. He loves being who they both love being when they're with each other and nothing more is part of the equation. |

| Lady GaGa – Poker Face Lyrics

I agree with the people who say it's about her sexuality and how she thinks about women when she's making love to a man. However, for those who had the thought of this song being about oral sex because she's actually saying 'Poke Her Face', that idea has been realized by the up and coming artist Kid Cudi. Look it up on youtube, 'Poke Her Face' by Kid Cudi featuring, Kanye West, Common, & DJ A-trak. It's banging.
Oh and P.S. the acoustic version of Lady on the Piano is incredibly better than the studio version, she showcases her golden pipes, and they're amazing. |
