Tool – Eulogy Lyrics 17 years ago
I have a great tendency to love the music that best describes my behavior and/or personality and twist it to make the lyrics the words of those around me. I ask myself if that is what they see. It could just be the mood I am in. I might hate myself one day, then turn around and love that same self the next go-round.

It would be interesting if Maynard wrote this song about ... well... himself. What if he was just tired of fans worshipping him that day? Just one day where he couldn't stand being in his "place". So, he wrote the words in third person. Which basically expresses all his disgust for himself in a vicarious sort of way. In the concert, the fans just mimic him as he sings this and they might be oblivious as to how it makes him feel - disgusted, though filling that hollow part inside him. Kind of like cutting himself, but through the mouth of the hating side of his soul.

I don't know, haha.

A Perfect Circle – Brena Lyrics 17 years ago
adding on to brena28...

He says: Vulnerable... It's alright

Why does he throw that in the mix? "It's alright", he says. Is he talking to himself; resassuring himself that it's okay to immerse myself in her? Or does he mean to resassure HER it's alright, like "It's okay, Brena, accept this vulnerability I give unto you"?

I feel it could go both ways. More importantly I feel Brena does not "get it". Whenever I hear this song, I see myself saying these words to someone who isn't even there to hear them. Like I say them inside to myself, but out loud to the world. Mainly because if I say them indirectly to that person I could blame them for not listening to me and healing me. It's kind of a phucked up way of giving your entire being and at the same time never giving yourself to that person at all.

Yeah he sings this song, but does he ever tell her these things face to face? God only knows...

A Perfect Circle – Thinking Of You Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm pretty sure MJK likes to make his "audience" feel stupid. When I mean "audience", I mean those who think they understand what he's talking about.

All in all... don't believe everything you hear. If Maynard willing throws curveballs in all his songs, why wouldn't he do the same with what comes out of his mouth on stage talking to his audience.

He knows what people like to hear. I could just see the look on the crowd as he threw out that comment about it being of anal sex. He's phucking with you. Don't let him get to you. It's all a game.

But that's just my 2 cents, Yeah?
