I love this song. I've never been cheated on, knock on wood. But this is obvious it's about cheating. The metaphor about the gun, is stating that she's putting her boyfriend in so much pain, it feels just as bad as getting shot. or it could also mean to just take him out of his misery of being cheated on. that's just my interpretation of this song at least. I love it. |

I'm not sure if anyone has already said this yet, but here is my interpetation of the song and I can relate to it. There is this couple, they could've even been best friends and never dated and they fell in love with each other. and all that they did was either be the happiest, or fight. and they made plans to grow up together, and move in and live together. but everytime the boy (or the lead singer) gets happy and satisfied, something bad happens. They planned on getting married, and they'd tell each other everything, even if the other person didn't exactly believe all of the others stories. and they were so head over heels over each other that they'd die for each other. such as in this part of the song: We made plans to grow old, believe me there was truth in all those stories that I told. Lost in a simple game cat and mouse are we the same people as before this came to light? They eventually just give up on each other. and thats when the part "all i ever wanted, it comes with a price" comes in. |
