Flogging Molly – The Son Never Shines (On Closed Doors) Lyrics 17 years ago
I saw them at 4th & B in San Diego sometime in 2002. Dave King took a minute to give the background on the song which was a very sad story. I don't think he made it back to Ireland at this point but I could be wrong. One of the most emotional moments at a punk show for me because I have a similar relationship with my mom. I moved 2,000 miles away when I was 18. My mom wishes I would move back home, but knows that I'm much happier living far away. Even though I only see her 1-2 times a year, she is happy knowing that I'm happy.

About a girl who's hair smelled like Apple Shampoo. I love the multiple cliches!

Social Distortion – Don't Take Me for Granted Lyrics 18 years ago
Not only is the song about Dennis Danell, it's about his best friend from his teenage and adult life dying unexpectedly. I saw Social D at Canes in San Diego in 2001 at their first show back since Dennis's death. I didn't know the whole story about why they didn't play for a few years. After Ness played the song it made so much sense. He poured his entire heart out when he played the song. I was completely sold on Social D after that show. Punk rock is about telling a story that your audience can understand. Although my best friend is still alive, I can understand how much Dennis meant to Mike and I shouldn't take my best friend for granted.

Blink-182 – Mutt Lyrics 18 years ago
I have the old version on the surf video "The Show" I actually liked Scott more as a drummer than Travis. I think that Travis is more talented than Scott, but Scott's drums meshed better with the guitar and vocals. Travis drums over power the guitar and vocals and lost their original sound. Too bad Scott was an alcoholic.

Blink-182 – Carousel Lyrics 18 years ago
The guitar rifs on Cheshire Cat are on another planet! Anyone who saw them live in the early days knows that Tom even had difficulty playing them. This band meant so much to me when I was 16. It was hard to see them progress into a band that I couldn't relate to anymore. Even Dude Ranch was the beginning of the end.

Unwritten Law – Cailin Lyrics 18 years ago
I remember when Scott would bring his kids on stage during this song. His kids were so small and cute. It was a very unique and different experience for a punk show. Although this song didn't mean much as a teenager, it means alot more now that I'm older.

Unwritten Law – Up All Night Lyrics 18 years ago
I agree. High5inmfer has no clue. I've got about 12 years of good memories listening to this band in the car, at parties, and live with friends. This was the college anthem while going to SDSU. Punk is about telling a story that normal people can understand and can relate to. Best sing-a-long song while drunk!

Screeching Weasel – Totally Lyrics 18 years ago
I joked with my ex-girlfriend that this was our relationship song. Even though she didn't know the song or the band she agreed and we both laughed about it. She didn't listen to punk but thought it was a "cute" song. "I totally, love everything about you."

Screeching Weasel – What We Hate Lyrics 18 years ago
I think this song is about getting old. I've out grown many of their teenage agnst songs, although I still listen to them with fond memories of the past. However, this song means more to me now that ever at 28. Any other ideas?
