when i hear the line, "That stupid sound That awful feel Don't bring them down And it never will No, it never will" i always think about the song "i would hurt a fly" and the lyrics, "i can't get that sound you make out of my my head." and how he uses the "sound" element in both songs and i wonder if it just refers to the same thing... |

| i think it is about being in a depressed and unmotivated state. Having a half assed attitude towards everything. and its true "Happiness will only...happen when it can." It's hard to be happy when the motivation isn't there. it can't be forced. | |

i like built to spills version better than Neil Young's....maybe because i am not a fan of neil young haha. also the guitar playing is awesome in this song, lengthy, but awesome. |

| well where do i even start, in my opinion i believe this is one of BTS's most powerful and meaningful songs. i am surprised there haven't been more comments! i think the song is very haunting in a way with the string instruments. to me it symbolizes an addiction. "I can't get that sound you make out of my head, i can't even figure out whats making it." refers to the constant thought and nagging/obsessiveness of addiction and the pain that comes with it. Almost as if it makes you a different person. "There's a mean bone in my body, it's connected to the problems that i won't take for an answer and i wont take that from you, because i'd hurt a fly." i love that line...it's so raw and true....and well everyone has problems whether it be a serious addiction or day to day battles. this song just strikes a chord with me and will always ring true. | |
