Saosin – Come Close Lyrics

I think this song is about someone who is in love with someone else, but the other person doesn't really love her/his own self so they can't accept that someone else loves them.
kind of like a "we accept the love we think we deserve" type thing |

Sufjan Stevens – The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades Is Out to Get Us! Lyrics

But you don't really KNOW that. Unless of course, you've talked to him, and he has explicitly said I AM NOT GAY. I don't know, I hate it when people say stuff like that, almost in a know it all kind of way. I can think he's writing songs from his own perspective if I want to, and I can take to interpret them however I wish, hence the "at least that's what it seems like to me"
That's what makes music so wonderful. So, scenicworld, which by the way is a very good song, it's not very nice to go and ruin all the fun for everyone (or at least just me) |

I do believe Sufjan is gay though, so the relationship between him and the boy he talks about could be that they are lovers. I want to say that when they talk about the sting it's almost like a metaphor for the sting of love, persay. He just has too many songs with references to other men, like in "To Be Alone With You" when he says "you gave up a wife and a family...to be alone with me" so it would make sense that he is gay.
At least that's what it seems like to me. |

Chiodos – Baby, You Wouldn't Last A Minute On The Creek Lyrics

okay, so even if its about the band, its still about stopping everything and just moving on.
to me, he makes that fact not specific in the song so that it can be interpreted in different ways according to the listener's own personal experiences.
music is a way to relate to others. so why would you limit it being about one specific thing thats not so relatable to most people? theres a reason for not spelling things out like that in songs. |

Panic! at the Disco – She Had The World Lyrics

the harpsichord totally makes sense if the theme of the lyrics is unrequited love because it represents old times when poetry was pretty much always about unrequited love.
this is one of my favorites off pretty. odd.
i love it |

Bright Eyes – It's Cool, We Can Still Be Friends Lyrics

Awwww
This is so relatable. I love it. It's like the break up song, but way better because it shows the aftermath of it all and how you really can never be friends after you break up with someone you really loved. Conor always does such a remarkable job. |

Bright Eyes – Easy/Lucky/Free Lyrics

I think this is from a soldier's point of view. It's like they are talking about killing people in war but then not feeling very sorry about it because they know they are in a better place, Heaven. |

Bright Eyes – The Joy in Forgetting/The Joy in Acceptance Lyrics

This is by far one of my favorite Bright Eyes songs, I stumbled upon it by chance and I am so thankful I did. It's amazing, everything about it from the lyrics to the melody and background music, is so poignant and beautiful and raw and real. |
