This song rules. Basically, I think they're both too afraid to admitt they have feelings for eachother. Neither of them wanna get hurt, but in the end they can't deny the feelings they have for eachother. They're both afraid to make the first move, and they don't want their feelings to get hurt.. as said above haha. Oddly, I think they blend really well in this song, and I think the lyrics are pretty complex. |

I also believe this to be about birth and the relationship of a father and a son. "I remember the time you drove all night, Just to meet me in the morning" I think this song is about the father racing to the delivery room to meet his baby, or possibly driving to meet his son who could have been in trouble, and he realized how much his son means to him. "You said everything changed, you felt as if you just woke up" Describing how it feels to actually realize how much is son means to him.. makes you appreciate what you have. "So I thought I'd let you know, That these things take forever, I especially am slow. But I realized how I need you, And I wondered if I could come home" This is the son talking, saying that he realizes it's hard out in the world and how he was ignorant for thinking he could take it on so easily, so he's asking to come home. This song is really nice to listen to. I love this line, "You'll start drinking again I can see it now clear How you'll wake up every morning With a new bird in your cage." -Not too sure if it's about a friend or an ex, but either way, it sounds like a metaphor to having sex with different people, beause of te fact they got drunk.
