I think it's: 'But there's nobody 'round to write it down So it gets lost on my books and pillows' & 'And when it comes to mine, I have no idea What to say, when I'm talking to you' |

| I think it's 'trying to see eye to eye with the faceless', not face lift. | |
| Modest Mouse – Bankrupt on Selling Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
'Well, all the apostles, they're sitting in swings Saying, "I'd sell off my savior for a set of new rings And some sandals with the style of straps That cling best to the era"' 'And all of the angels, they'd sell off your soul For a set of new wings and anything gold' to me, these lines (metaphorically) refer to greed and the shitty, extreme and insane things people will do for money or stuff. 'Well, I'll go to college and I'll learn some big words And I'll talk real loud, goddamn right I'll be heard You'll remember the guy who said all those big words He must have learned in college' i love the irony in these lines. you go to college and learn some big words and use them to flaunt your intelligence and people are just like "oh yeah, the guy who said those big words he musta learned in college". that's a terrible explanation but i don't know how to give a better one.. you just have to kind of see the irony in it, |

| Ugly Casanova – Barnacles Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
ah, i love this song. i don't know me and you don't know you so we fit so good together 'cause i knew you like i knew myself we clung on like barnacles on a boat even though the ship sinks you know you can't let go this is something i can definitely relate to.. being in a relationship and not knowing who you are, and not knowing the other person really, but still clinging on when things begin to fall apart. it's like black glass and dirt based soap.. it doesn't really make sense. |
