I've been wondering about this one. It's extremely sad and obviously the protagonist still deeply loves the other, but it seems that the other doesn't have the energy to keep going with the relationship. The lyric "you really shouldn't carry me no more i'm much too heavy for you i'm really quite a mess" , maybe implies that the relationship is unbalanced and that she has some heavy problems mentally, and leans a lot on the other. |

I have always been in doubt about parts of this song. The beginning: It's time the tale were told, of how you took a child and you made him old.' - I mean even I can see how people thought this was about child abuse. I'm not saying it is. And the 'shove and slap me on the patio' bits - sounds rather violent more then sexual. But there's definitely a lot of sexuality in here in a not too explicit kind of way. And the title has been a mystery for me since the beginning. Can anyone confirm that is a gay term? |

| It's funny to see so many interpretations and some of you have a great imagination. But I don't think this is about a relationship. Doesn't make sense. I think it is most likely to be about the munich massacre, especially when you look at the video. The people running are inspired by Muybridge's early photography of movement by the way. And the athletes look mostly old-fashioned, not like present. Maybe not the whole song is about this, obviously their lyrics are not always supposed to be crystal clear. But 'It breaks if you don't force it' can just as well be meant as: when terrorists don't take action, they will never get what they aim for. It's pure guesswork. | |
