| Two Gallants – Damnatio Memoriae Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I love this song. It's really emotive! Damnatio Memoriae means literally (damnation of the remembrance). It comes from the Roman Right. If someone was given the Damnatio Memoriae, saying his name was forbidden and all of the statues, monuments, bridges, mosaics that brought him up were destroyed. It is curious that this two latin words are never said in the song, but it talks just about it. The song meaning is about the end of a sentimental relationship. They have split up and he sees himself forced to forget everything, her name...but he finds it difficult Above all, this is poetry, my friend! |
