I do think it's about a relationship between a man and woman but I think it's the opposite of what many here do. I think the man cares for the woman and TRIES to love her as she does him. They have some sort of relationship in which he lied and let her believe that he loves her as much as she does him. Maybe he thought that in time his platonic love would deepen into something else but it doesn't. Basically "I will always love you but I never LOVED you. I will always be here for you because I truly care. I know it hurts but in time I hope you remember me fondly. If you ever need me I will be there for you but I can't make myself love you in that way." |
