id always liked this song just because it sounded really nice and was relaxing to listen to. but it just became maybe my favorite song when i realized it applied to me. ive known what it was about for a really long time and just a little while ago i realized this song was about my best friend. my best friend and i literally grew up together sinc before i can remember and he was (i almost wrote is, then realized it should be WAS) the closet i had to a brother. thn this spring he got this new girlfriend that is really so fake. she changed to b what he wanted. itsunbelievable. she is the fakest, most annoying, obnoxious person i know. and hes crazy about her. i dont think he sees just how much of a show shes putting on (shes doing a damn good imitation of herself, hehe). shes not quite as ontrolling, as were only in high school, but she pretty much took him away from me and my other best friend. the three of us used to be tight, butnow its just two. hs got a new group of friends and to be honest, and i wanna punch him sometimes. im friends with his new friends, but not great friends. they all can be pretty obnoxious and self righteous at times. he just kinda ignores me now. and ive pushed him to the side too. but now, i dont know how this turned out, but hes feeling like his girlfriend ignores him sometimes. and im hoping that thy break up just so he can come back. so this song is everything i hope happens. |

| I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what war this is, and I used to think of it as the Civil War for a couple reasons. One, the musical style just seems like the Civil War and I don't know why. That's just what it makes me think of. The Civil war was also a wat where "the others" were pretty much the same. Brothers and cousins were fighting against eachother, and I can tell you as a decendant of such a faimly. Also, it says the men stood with their guns on their shoulders. I know that was very popular during the Civil War and other wars of the era, and I THINK, I could be wrong, that soldiers don't do that as much any more except in formalities. Also, "It was a gray morning" leads me to belive so, with the rebels color being gray. I had some problems believing this though, as I know at that time they didn't have showers. After all the over analysis, I concluded that it probably doesn't give a certain war on purpose. This song applies to all wars. In all wars, those on the other side are just as human as yourself, so what fight is really worth fighting? | |
