| Sex Pistols – Who Killed Bambi? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Back before they were doing The Great Rock And Roll Swindle the American producer Russ Mayer was shooting the "first" Sex Pistols film. It was never finished. In a scene shot outdoors in the forest someone on the crew killed a fawn. it shocked a lot of people and was looked on at being too excessive even in punk terms. Eventually the film was shut down. This song recalls that day. If you find the vinyl double album a photo of the the dead deer is on the back of the record jacket. Inside are stills from the film including stills from an abandoned animated sequence with Sid, his naked mom & Mayer. read more about it in Malcolm McCalren's biography. | |

They also mention "Elton John - a hair transplant." And I think the line 'Bob Marley is a closet case' or something similar. "Paul Cook, bare bones." |

| This song is so obviously about pot. | |
| Sex Pistols – Belsen Was A Gas Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| These lyrics aren't "Belsen Was A Gas". These are the reprise sung by Ronnie Biggs and 2 Sex Pistols, Steve Jones and Paul Cook: "Einmal Belsen War Wirflich Bortrefflich (Belsen Vos A Gassa)" | |

The lyrics aren't accurate. "My heavy steps get a little bit louder"???? Maybe look at the lyric sheet and see that "lighter" ryhmes with "brighter in the line before. Whoever transcribed these lyrics was perhaps smoking something. The song is metaphorical, not literal. A song is a poem that's sung. Seeing things brighter does not mean she actually sees things brighter. It is a poetic comparison. Mary Janes are traditioanlly worn by children, not adults. They were made for adults in sexier styles to combine sexiness with a childlike presence of mind. Wearing the simple buckle shoes takes her back to a simpler, non-show biz time. Illustrated by the lyrics: "Just like a child...." "...just like I'm seven." If we were to belive the literal/marijuana interpretation then taking the song as a whole we'd have to belive that she feels just like all the multitude of 7 year olds getting high on pot. Which of course happens SO OFTEN.... (snicker)...... It's shoes. It's how a simple piece of clothing changes her whole attitude. The Mary Jane brand has been around for 90 years. Tradition. Childhood. Shoes. Or, it could be about how she feels in the arms of her bisexual lover who is named Mary Jane. I wonder why no one has brought that up? Makes about as much sense as pot. |

"Why wouldn't she call them sally jane shoes? " Becasue MARY JANE IS A BRAND OF SHOE THAT SHE WEARS! They are a shoe worn by children, that is why she feels like a kid, free, etc. But they make them for adults, too. "Sassy Mary Janes" they are sometimes called. |

If this song is about pot then her song "Big Girls Don't Cry" is about S&M. And it's Mary Janes shoes, plural. She's not wearing shoes that belong to a woman named Mary Jane (i.e., Mary Jane's shoes). |
