no ones even gotten close to this one yet. It was written in retalliation to one of mozart seasons songs. joel was in unknown farewell with a bunch of these dudes and was kicked out on a bad note. Mozart Season wrote a song called gavin aint dancin (or now known as midnight train to bellvue) pretty much as a big fuck you to them and this song is in response to it. Its very obvious "And now you are so ashamed To see that I have made it farther than you ever will You speak of riding wings Such talent wouldn't be entrusted to such little kids " "Oh I'm so flattered To see you copy See you wish you could be just like us " in those verses it couldnt be more clearly stated |

No one has gotten this right yet. Its simply about living your life in the fast lane, living purely for cheap thrills and short filled highs. "Scratch card glory or waist low pleasure? My white abode But it’s such a thrill just to find out…" he's talking about gambling and sex that leave him a little shorter in the end but once the wheels are in motion theres no use looking back. I'm surprised no one got this yet but my white abode is a metaphor for cocaine. The First verse is mainly about the thrill of discovering and using these things. The chorus is just saying once wrapped into this whole cycle and processing maybe its not the best place to be and all he'd be giving up is a life lead by impulse and unintentional occurences. |
