in my opinion, this song is told as a relationship is ending or at least the lovers understand what is happening but when i personally listen to the first few stanzas it makes me think of unrequited love and how you try so hard to make that person love you as much as you love them,if at all.and then one day you get that one moment you;ve been yearning for but it doesn't mean what you want it to, so you end up being hurt and stuck with memories of the "good times" and having to face that they love someone else even though you think it should be you but eventually you see that you are able to move on and that it is you who is changing,that the other person was just never who you expected them to be. i mean this is what i get from the first few stanzas but i guess it doesn't make too much sense with the rest of the song |

to dylanrocks i think that he is uneasy when she is tying the laces of his shoes because shoes are supposed to show where a person has been and maybe he wants to hide what has happened in the past.I also agree with ejtfu about how when people fall in love and then experience heartbreak they continue to fantasize about that loved one so he may not really be meeting the woman from the beginning of the song again, just someone he wishes was her. |
