| Alanis Morissette – Doth I Protest Too Much Lyrics | 16 years ago |

sounds like the guy in the song is a player and a jerk "I'm not threatened, by every pair of legs you watch go by I don't cringe when you stare at women, it's just a thing called guy I don't notice your sideway glances or where your loyalty lies I'm secure and out of me, it's hard to get a rise" "I'm not tortured by how often you're busy, 'cause I've got things to do I'm not disappointed about how you don't miss me, cause I don't need you to" so the girl is trying hard to think rationally that she shud know better than to still have feelings or cry over the jerk she used to go out with but then she always comes to the conclusion that the jerk still holds a place in her heart "And doth I protest too much?" |

| oh i forgot to add..since that person had a horrible experience.."this things that are pleasing you, cud hurt you somehow"..it could be either getting even with who ever caused that person pain..or because since this person would have most likely been betrayed by someone he really trusted..he finds comfort and security in only trusting himself... | |

for me this song seems like its about a person who's living life base on some horrible thing that happened to him..which is why you got the song talking about pain and hunger.. the queen of diamonds could mean worldly things to numb the person out from the pain.. then, queen of hearts wud be one's conscience..as in the saying where's your heart... "And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just some people talkin' Your prison is walking through this world all alone" its hard for this person to break away from the past..he still lives in the past.. "You better let somebody love you, before it's too late" this person trusts no one..because of that thing that happened to him before he always has his guard up..so unless he opens up his heart to someone..that's the only time he'd be able to move on from the pain.. |

This movie should be the theme song for the movie Mr. Brooks "He’s a stranger to some And a vision to none He can never get enough, Get enough of the one" "For a fortune he'd quit But it’s hard to admit How it ends and begins" Remember how he seriously tried to quit and wanted out but just don't know where to start "On his face is a map of the world A map of the world On his face is a map of the world A map of the world" on his face is the map of the world, evrytime his alter ego shows up his given the choice which path he wants to take "From yesterday, it’s coming From yesterday, the fear From yesterday, it calls him But he doesn't want to read the message here" this part is brooks fighting of his murderer urges "On a mountain he sits, not of gold but of shit through the blood he can look see the lives that he took From a count to the one He'll decide when he’s done with the innocent" pretty much self explanatory of what his nature is |
