Ten years later, this song (whole album actually) is still amazing. I mostly agree with casemore's post, but here are my thoughts: "And now I'm trying to tell you about my life" = talking to a friend or possibly a therapist "And my tongue is twisted and more dead than alive" = the side-effects of anti-depressants "And my feelings they've always been betrayed and I was born a little damaged man and look what they made" = the depressed-person tendency to consider oneself a victim and also that the drugs and/or other treatment hasn't helped. I don't think it's about a specific relationship, just general loneliness and hurt. |
