I don't know what this song is actually about, but here is one interpretation: It almost sounds like it's about these friends who aren't really dating, but are "friends with benefits." Then the guy starts to fall in love with the girl, even though she does the same stuff with other guys; she doesn't love this guy. And I agree with the person that said the "place" he's referring to is mental, not physical. |

Like many other people said, I think this song is about a relationship that is about to end after a long time. She still has feelings for him, but she can tell he doesn't want to be in the relationship with her anymore. "We took our chance out on the street But I missed my chance and chances are it won't be coming back to me" I think that she's saying they officially dated, like in public, and people knew they were a couple. (out on the street, where people could see) But she feels like she messed up because he doesn't feel the same about her anymore. She wishes she could go back to the beginning and fix what went wrong, but she knows she can't do that. |
