The Lumineers – Morning Song Lyrics 12 years ago
To me, this song is about a man who is depressed and heartbroken over a past love. It sounds like the woman either cheated on him or perhaps, at the very least, left him for another man. No matter what, he can't help thinking about her and seems to be waiting for her to return, although that is unlikely.

The last two verses definitely sound as if the man has given up on her. He is filled with so much hate towards the woman. He decides to cut the breaks from his car than to go on living without her. Finally it ends with him bitterly hoping that someday she will love someone who will do the same thing to her that she did to him.

Although extremely disheartening, what a wonderful song, lyrically.

I hear "So I told you" but that's probably not right either.

Punch Brothers – It'll Happen Lyrics 13 years ago
Although I can see this song being about falling in love or marriage, I think it could also be able having a baby.

It'll Happen
It's gonna happen babe
But it hasn't happened yet
I'm not gonna let you get
Ahead of yourself
It's your Achilles heel
Though I want it bad as you
We've gotta try to see it through
Our own excitement

It seems as though the singer is trying to calm his wife down until they know for sure if she is pregnant. She has always seen herself as a mother and he wants a child just as much as she does.

Your excitement babe
Hasn't let that happen yet
and it won't if you forget
What happened last time

They may have been trying for some time to have a child, but it hasn't happened yet. He just doesn't want them to get their hopes up too high only to be let down again.

Kenny Chesney – Back In My Arms Again Lyrics 13 years ago
When people say hindsight is 20/20, it means that now that you can see the whole situation clearly (you're no longer in it), you realize what you should have done. So basically, he's realizing that leaving his girl was a huge mistake, but at the time he thought it was the right decision.

Also, it's clear that it's supposed to say he left her on the front porch crying.

Great song. Classic country Kenny.

Jayme Dee – Rules Lyrics 13 years ago
I disagree, chloeannne. I think the whole song is from Katniss' point of view about Peeta. In the first book, she is conflicted about how she feels about him, which makes it hard since he keeps telling her about how much loves her. He even shares that his first memory of her was when they were little and Katniss just assumes that it is made up since Peeta is such a clever player in the games. However, she just assumes that it's all for the sake of the games and their survival.

The second verse reflects the aftermath of the games when Peeta discovers that Katniss was just going along with it for the games. But they obviously have to keep up the illusion for the tour and what not. Throughout the books, it's said that Peeta is able to charm the public effortlessly, so he just acts like everything is okay, even though he does truly love her.

Basically Katniss doesn't know how she feels and she just assumes whatever she might feel is a result of the pressure of the games and the "rules" that President Snow controls. They are both slaves to the Capital's wishes.

Taylor Swift – Eyes Open Lyrics 13 years ago
If anyone has read the Hunger Games series, I think you'll agree that this song is pretty self-explanatory. The thing I think that's interesting about this song is it could easily apply to Taylor's life in the spotlight as well. Either way, it's a great song.

I can't wait until her next CD. These two songs for the first Hunger Games movie are such a tease. :)

Demi Lovato – For the Love of a Daughter Lyrics 14 years ago
My father was never abusive or an alcoholic, but he abandoned my family when I was 12, if you can even really say that he was always there before that. That was 10 years ago. It still hurts to this day.

Wow, I just love this song. I don't know if this song will be on their next album or not, but if it's any indication about how their new music might sound, I'm super excited. Especially because Viva la Vida was not my favorite cd they’ve put out.

I really like this song. It just bugs me some because the chorus tune sounds a lot like Innocent.

Taylor Swift – Mine Lyrics 15 years ago
It's obvious that it's about a girl who is intimidated by the idea of a successful relationship because her parents didn't last. She expects things to fall apart, but that's not the case. They had a close call, but he promises to stay with her no matter what.

I love it already! Is it October 25th yet?

Great song. Upbeat and fun, but it still has an edge to it with cutting lyrics. I am really excited for her new album!

Also, I believe she says "You are not me" in the chorus rather than "You and not me."

Yeah, tcaporale is right. Sorry to disappoint any of you who loved the piano, but the real version is completely different. It has a beat and doesn't sound like anything Coldplay has ever recorded. I kind of like it though. It's a great song.

Leona Lewis – Footprints In The Sand Lyrics 18 years ago
It seems like this song was written about this poem. I think this is one of the most powerful songs on the album. It's one of my favorites because it reminds that God is always there.

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there were one set of footprints. This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints. So I said to the Lord, "You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there have only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?" The Lord replied, "The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand, is when I carried you." --Mary Stevenson
