When i heard this song i thought of September 11th and how the he walked all these city blocks barely breathing cause he didnt know if the one he loved was still alive. And the stoplights went from red to green and back again but nobody was moving and that was kind of what it felt like for him like nothing was moving because he still was unsure of her situation. Eventually he finds out she didnt make it and now hes broken. Hes saying that it wasnt a fair fight because she didnt have a chance to live or fight for her life, it was taken from her unwillingly. This is what i got out of it, any thoughts? |

when i first heard this song i saw it in my head. pretty much i think its basically like a story about a girl who back in her hometown she is the prom queen miss perfect a "debutante" but than she decides to move to a big city like los angeles or new york but when she gets there everything turns out wrong. watch the stars turn you to nothing now blush and smile as they whisk you away (the life of hollywood and stardom is taking her away already) Part your lips a bit more, I'll swallow your fear I will show you how All the bite marks impress A need to be here A need to see... (I think this is an analogy almost or refernecne to a vampire because when a vampire bites you than you are forever affected and you will always be one until death by it and now this so called hollywood way of life has bitten into her and theres no way out unless she dies) City lights, like rain Dance and explode Fall upon debutants (you know how rain falls and falls but eventually it has to hit the ground and explode, that is what is happening to her from all these city lights and night life around her shes falling but eventually shes just gunna crash) Reeling from nights that Kiss and control All of our broken hearts (she feels that living this life is curing what she was missing back at home and her broken heart) Velvet burns the wrists while restraining You blushed and smiled and you said you would stay (im not too sure about this part but i could be that shes promising herself to many things now and isnt so sure about this lfie anymore) One more time steal my breath, I'll feed you the sky I will show you how Steal the glamour from death and before you die Oh you should see (she has realized she can never make it underneath these city lights so shes just going to kill herself but is going to "steal the glamour" from it so she is remembered) "We all want to die like movie stars," you said as you jumped from the height of our cutting room floor while above us, glowing, exploding, our dreams burst forth in light and death. (now shes jumped and committed suicide from all this pressure that she basically brought onto herself and when she did this all of her dreams were broken so as shes dying she wants to burn like stars so shell shine bright in her last moments and now the city lights are dancing because theyve won.) i dont know any thoughts? |
