Well, to assume that i said the whole Bible is offensive to anyone is incorrect. I have not encountered any offensive verses, not even in the book of Revelations. If someone saw the future and all of its wonder....could you be offended by this vision? You said it yourself, "When their sins are pointed out to them." Its the people who wrongfully SHOW them their sins that offends them, but furthermore, if someone reads about their own sins....how foolish to be offended by your own judgement! lol We are only rightfully judged by the Word of God. Now using your logic, i can say, huffing paint is bad....according to society, cause thats what i've grown up to believe, but the Bible doesn't directly say not to. So lets do it! Same with cussing, right? Proverbs 16:2 - "All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the spirits." Now, my main argument against cussing for a Christian band is the ministry behind the lyrics and the band's character. If someone sees a man going to church every sunday and worshiping God, then they might say "Hes a Christian!". But right after he gets out of church he starts cussing in front of that person, that person might say "He's a Christian?" When they say "I'm right here, B!" Is that truly necessary? If we really want to get technical...I believe Jesus said "Love your neighbor as yourself." Which combined 6 commandments from the law of the prophets. So, to love (whoever they are calling that), I guess they also love to be called "B"'s, since its 'ok'. Psalm 24:3-4 "Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol Nor sworn deceitfully." I'm not doubting anyone's faith, or claiming i could ever even think that i'm close to perfect, i'm just backing up my opinion on Christian band's cussing. And if blessthefall is not, nor has ever been, a Christian band, then discussion over, yanno? |

"but I mean really everyone messes up too. I'm Christian and I have screwed up A LOT!" I'm with ya on that one, brother. But to "mess-up" is to make a mistake....and why would they intentionally make this song permanently soiled? I don't think, if it is "B", that its a mistake. Thats the debate i think. But i agree, i think its "I'm what Hap-pens" |

The bible is a glorification of God and His perfect Word. In no way is book of Revelations offensive, and it shouldn't be it is merely prophecy. Cussing is not a glorification of God in any way and is not shown anywhere to be acceptable in the Word. So why would a Christian cuss? I agree that it doesn't mean they aren't a Christian. I think the trouble is that Christian bands usually have a sort of "ministry" within their lyrics and music....which would make them a Christian band. But to soil that ministry with unnecessary wording and make other Christians be exemplified by cursing is an insult. I think thats why theres such hype about this song. We'll never know what they truly believe in their hearts, and thats what truly makes a Christian who they are. |

| Burden of a Day – Pt.2 Sometimes They Do Lyrics | 16 years ago |

For some reason i'm getting an allegorical resemblance to Christ's day of crucifiction. "At last the outlaws dead" <---Christ was portreyed as an outlaw by the Gentiles. This is the first of our goodbye's The bells they toll for me "My blood or his on this dirty street" <---My mental picture is the crown of thorns causing Christ to bleed as he's carrying the cross down the street. My God my hands don't fail me now "The devil's tool to do God's will" <---Judas Iscariot? The women cry the men are still "His silhouette up on the hill" <---Christ's crucifiction on the mount "Now dead man's hill Claims two more soul's tonight" <=== The two other's crucified with Christ "Just one life to give So that we both might live" <---Christ's sacrifice is the first thing that popped in my head when i read this. |

"I'm What Happens"....EASY....you could almost hear the "N" at the end. maybe i just have selective hearing...lol OK, think about it, "i'm right here B" doesn't make sense in the context of the song! I believe the first post is the closest meaning of the song. So would that line make sense? Now look, notice that "i'm"..."what"...are both one syllable each? Maybe they broke "HAPPENS" into "HAP"-"PENS". Even the incorrect "I'm Right Here B" Is all screamed in single syllables. So it is DEFINITELY likely that they just broke up the word 'happens' into individual syllables. And "we're sane because of her taste"....are you serious? OPEN YOUR EARS AND LISTEN TO THE ---"HAU"--- sound and not the "HER" sound.....my goodness, that was an easy one. I don't question that they aren't Christian at all. I think they might sing about the struggles of being a Christian and striving for God's perfect will, but realizing that Christians aren't anymore perfect than non-christians.....they're just forgiven. |

| Could be talking about the end of times. Not too sure about this song. | |

Well, this "jezebel" comes from the story about how she convinced the Hebrew people of Israel to worship the false god "Baal". I was thinking that this could be based from the thoughts of Elijah, the prophet of the OT that proves to the people that Baal is a weak, psudo-god. Then the "destroy" comes from the idea that Elijah has God destroy the believers of this "Baal". BUT, the lyrics call on the name of Jesus, so the "jezebel" could refer to our transgressional world we live in...that is designed to deter us from our everloving God. "I refuse to be just right" could refer to how we live our lives "just right" in escense of what the world preaches and what society tells us how to live. God knows His true believers, and in the end, we will all be called to his kingdom, and our "jezebels" will be sent packing and will be destroyed. |

I think this song is basically a prayer for a friend. Maybe an ex-gf??? I dunno, but i'm pretty positive its a prayer to God to a dear friend. Tried to think of specific women in the Bible it might be, but nothing comes to mind. |

Another great song. Its talking about knowing that God is there and being trapt in this world. First Stanza: 16 years must be hold long he's known Christ. He knows that God can hear every prayer. We fall into sin awake in this world and we fall further and further away from God each day and we call for His grace and His guidence. Second Stanza: Calling for Jesus' second coming. We will wait in this hateful/corrupt/dying world that drowns us in sin. Third Stanza: We witness God's glory all around us, we have trouble opening our eyes to Him because it scares us but we desire Him in this decaying world because He is unchangable, INFALLIBLE, and unyielding. Forth Stanza: Calling for God to save him (i've had many dreams about that). Its tough living your life for Christ at time because of how we live and this talks about trusting in God to take control and hoping not to live in a "lifeless" facade. Fifth Stanza: Taken by the world of lost souls, he is shining in the light of salvation and won't budge in His faith in the Lord. Sixth Stanza: In this world we're frozen in our sin and struggle to call for God, but His light can warm our hearts and break us free... ...we must reach for Him. For all of you who don't know Christ, i encourage you to learn more about Him. He changes people's lives, He's changed mine. He loves you, let Him in....you won't be let down. Don't let this raging waters of the world drown you from Him....stand firm, reach above the dark waters and He'll guide you to true love, true life, for all eternity. I pray for you. |

Finally, a song without the influence of failed relationships and worldly love. No offense to the other listeners of this band, but i can connect with this song so much more because it talks about the only relationship that i forever enjoy having: My relationship with Christ. As a Christian, songs like this bring a whole new passion for Christ. "Song of Solomon" Old Testament book in the Bible. First Stanza: Talks about being enthralled with Christ and living your life like Jesus did [i am not my own]. Then it talking about how trusting in God gives you freedom from walking in this dark world and asking God to lead you Second Stanza: Calling to God to give what we need, His gudience, His grace. Third Stanza: Talks about being reborn in Christ, but we are all born sinners and we can't help but be unfaithful at times, but we pray to him in truth [because of the shed blood on the cross]. Forth Stanza: Showing love for God and giving our all to Him, but realizing that its not enough, we're not able to give enough. And without him, we are nothing but worldly vessels that have nothing to live for besides our own desires. I encourage all of you that need love like this in your life. You won't be disappointed by God, only by what the world preaches and the darkness that consumes us. Songs like this make me tear-up because by God's grace i've come to know a neverending love that will bless me for all eternity. -God Bless |

| Life in Your Way – The SHame Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I think this song is about some one (she) who was a "rebellious Christian' that wasn't being true to God and not true to herself. Searching for something more true in life and someone that would always be there for her rather than merely through faith. Through it all, she is forgiven, by the grace of God, and this was what she is blindly looking for, when He has been with her through it all. This was what she was sure to be true. The First Two lines kind of show that every born-again Christian (like myself) can relate to, backsliding and falling into sin. The next lines show that what 'she' has done and who she was is hurting her now and that she is a lonley, tormented soul that was beginning to realize that she finds nothing to comfort and be true to her in this sinful world we live. She comes to realize in the next lines that she has been searching for someOne that has been with her all along....God. Then, i might be wrong, but the next lines (starting with ('What Can I Measure') is sort of a calling for us fellow Christians to never ignore someone who is lost and confused in their faith and be a leader/guide/counselor for them as Jesus was for us. "I was once like her"....very humbling statement that all Christians can relate to. The last lines are showing God's grace in forgiveness and love....and concludes with her finally realizing it. I seriously doubt this song is about some guy that accepts her for who she is....but i guess everyone is entitled to their own opinions....even if they are lame....lol |

"samalamajamjam" I LOVE YOU.....man, that was a good depiction. Wow. With that and listening to the song....i'd say "thrax11" has the closest lyrcs...just my perception of it i guess... *oh, and Jesus said to Peter that he would deny Him 3 times before the rooster would crow that morning....so it would be after midnight, not before.* |

Oh my gosh, This Song = My constant struggle "red lights stop me, crawling back to reflection" I'm constantly reminded of my mistakes and its when i can see my true-self (reflection) and i notice how broken my faith is (crawling back). "would my life make you believe in the story?" This idea constantly makes me realize that i need to live my life (roads) by God's perfect story of love (road map)...so that others can see what a Christian is. This Song is my life |
