Basshunter – Boten Anna Lyrics 16 years ago
No, these lyrics aren't stupid, they are one of the few original compositions out there anymore. Who else has made a song about an IRC bot before, huh?!? No one... How many have made stupid scream-o Metallicrap type songs, or (god forbid) the hundred trillion hip-hop / pop clone songs?? Well, trillions.

Give the man some credit, at least its original and god knows in this desert of true talent, we need all the originality we can get!

Filter – Hey Man, Nice Shot Lyrics 17 years ago
Well if it's about this budd Dwyer guy, then so be it....I won't dispute that. But prior to reading all this, I always envisioned this to be about a number of historical figures all dead now. "Stick it in your face and let you smell what they consider wrong." Hipocracy in the church, new kind of fear being either world war 2 or the cold war.....And how many times he keeps repeating the chorus just made me think of multiple people over the years....Then the lyrics of "They think your early ending was all wrong" and "Look how they all got strong" did make me think of MLK or perhaps even Kennedy......I dunno....Just what it always struck me as.......I do have a question though. If it's about this Budd Dwyer guy, then who "Got strong" from it?

Fear Factory – Timelessness Lyrics 17 years ago
Amazing. I never knew what he was saying until tonight/day.....I looked up the article for anyone who is interested.

The Free Speech Movement.

On October 1st, 1964, campus police detained activist Jack Weinberg, tucked him into a police car and prepared to roll away. Hundreds of young people surrounded the vehicle for nearly 36 hours, flattening its tires, one speaker after another climbing atop the squad car denouncing the Regent's policy, demanding free speech on campus.

Then in a moment that would define the student movement for decades, Mario Savio, a mathematics major, removed his shoes to avoid damaging the car, climbed upon its roof and said, "There comes a time when the operation of the machine become so odious...you've got to put your bodies on the gears, and upon the wheels...(and) make it stop."

During one of such campus protests, Meade, then a law student, paused on his way to class to watch and listen. Though active in Students for John Kennedy while an undergraduate, this was something quite different. He considered what was said, ideas he believed had merit and were righteous and for a moment flirted with the idea of staying. He then dutifully marched off to Boalt Hall.

....to be continued

Interesting no?

30 Seconds to Mars – Echelon Lyrics 17 years ago
Ok so I think it is also about a relationship and loss personally. Here's why.

Look at the red red changes in the sky
(The changes a relationship goes through. Could also be a foretelling of the loss of the relationship on the near horizon. Red? The battles yet to come in the relationship and it's ultimate death. Symbol of blood)
Look at the separation in the border line
(The couple has drawn their respective sides)

But don't look at everything here inside
(Don't forget why we started this relationship in the first place. Don't focus on the damage already done but why we started in the first place)
And be afraid, afraid to speak your mind
(Just give up on trying to fix what is broken between us)

It took a moment before I lost myself in here
It took a moment and I could not be found?
Again and again and again and again I see your face in everything
It took a moment the moment it could not be found?
(Chorus is pretty obvious really. The last lyrics being the most important because he realizes that at some junction in the past a critical moment was reached that afterward the relationship could not be saved. And he couldn't find the moment in time)

What's with the fascination with the Echelon
What's with the constant questions that you have this time
(These two lines are a the hardest to fit into my theory, but I'll figure that one out another time)

What's with this circumstancial consequence
(Half of a relationship's arguements are circumstancial, especially when they get really bad)
Find oversight before this night will ever rise again
(Either things get fixxed tonight or they never will)
It's all you've got inside your head, better get up and leave instead
(Head swimming with anger or pain over what's going on.....It's better to just end things and try to get on with life....Which of course from the chorus won't happen)
It took a moment before I lost myself in here
It took a moment and I could not be found?
Again and again and again and again I see your face in everything
It took a moment the moment it could not be found?

To find ourselves lost here within we need reasons why
(Why did we start argueing? What were the reasons?)
So we take this bridge with the other's that will thrive in the great divide
(A broken relationship is a breeding ground for fighting. Just one more fight in a thousand.)

Look at the red red changes in the sky
(I can see the end coming and it scares and hurts...Prophetic perhaps.)

Again and again and again and again I see your face in everything
Again and again and again and again I see your face in everything

It took a moment before I lost myself in here
It took a moment and I could not be found?
Again and again and again and again I see your face in everything
It took a moment the moment it could not be found?

So as you can see, with the current exception of 2 lines, there is a way this song can be interpreted as the end of a relationship....Which, at least in my mind, is how I've always thought it was ment to be....But hey, we all have our own opinions right?

Butthole Surfers – Whatever (I Had A Dream) Lyrics 17 years ago
Also the line "He waved before a chorus girl...."
I always thought he was saying "And Romeo, He ain't been for......" Perhaps it implied they weren't really made for one another....Which....I mean they weren't lol. Suicide and all that.....I hate to say it as well, but I always thought this was really an acid trip myself......Just how vivid things are and twisted and the way the music seems to hint at an ongoing time alteration with the melodic rhythm and tolling of the bell in the background......Sorry.....Been thinking about this one a lot for the last few months for some reason. Ok, I think I'm done now lol. Anyone else had the same thoughts?

Butthole Surfers – Whatever (I Had A Dream) Lyrics 17 years ago
I think you might be onto something with the whole vegas interpretation. In the beginning of the song I had always thought he said "Mercy Mercy I'm made of Cards".........After listening to it again though, it sounds more like he's saying "Card" or maybe even "Cloth".....Just a thought.
