| I think Lacey is begging the question, Have they " Flyleaf " lost their way since they have hit mainstream. She admits they have made mistakes since then, and she is wondering can they find their way back. Most likely she is remembering back to the past when things were simple, when even money wasn't an item. Probably when they were just playing down in one of their basements enjoying themselves. Where they could just be with eachother and God in Praise & Worship, where they could speak in tongues. " And when they were young ", " We were innocent once " , refers to them being young as a band, and how back then she feels that they were innocent, but now not so much. Honestly Lacey/Flyleaf your saved and therefore children of God and your mistakes have already been forgiven. Romans 3:23-24 For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God, and are justified freely by His Grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. So because you have Grace(Unmerited Favor) you have been forgiven and simply should continue to do what He has called you to do and that is to present His Truth through your music. | Lacey is talking about how she is " So Sick" of living in a Society, such as the one we live in now. One full of atheists, apethetics, etc. " Let me live without this Empty Bliss, Selfishness " , refers to a life where people live just for themselves and satisfying their own sinful nature, which is satisfied only temporarly and must be satisfied continually. " So you'll shut up and stay sleeping with my screaming in your itching ears " is referring to 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. So first of all Lacey is making it clear to everyone who listens to this CD that they won't get false doctrine, or get what their itching ears want to hear, which is lies they can use to debate sound dotrine. Truth be told, the Bible is the only sound dotrine there is, its God's Truth and the only Truth. Most people don't want to hear the Truth, but if you listen to these songs, truthfully listen to them, all your going to get is Truth. Lacey will be Screaming it into your itching ears, with every last one of them. " You Sink into my clothes, this invasion makes me feel worthless, hopeless, sick. | I agree with devilslittlesister,(wow). The girl is trying to break free from a life of sin and embrace God. It says in 2 Corinthians 7:10 Godly Sorrow brings Repentance that leads to Salvation and leaves no regret, but Worldly Sorrow leads to Death. I think its safe to say since she says, " Joy will Come ", that she repented and was saved. It says in Psalm 116:3 The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came upon me; I was overcome by trouble and Sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord: " O Lord, save me! " The Lord says in Jeremiah 31:13 I will give them Comfort and Joy instead of Sorrow. Psalm 91:14 " Because he/she loves me, " says the Lord, " I will rescue him/her; I will protect him/her, for he/she acknowledges my name. He/She will call upon me, and I will answer him/her; I will be with him/her in trouble, I will deliver him/her and honor him/her. With long life will I satisfy him/her and show him/her my Salvation.
