| Supertramp – Breakfast in America Lyrics

Judging only from Dance Dance, I'd have to say Patrick Stump is a terrible, terrible singer. There's no reason I would like a rap song that samples it just because it has the same lyrics.
As for the song meaning, British kid wants to move to America because he thinks it's so great, but doesn't really know anything about it. |

I definitely hear "vinternatt", which makes more sense in a verse about being afraid of the cold. "The undertaker is here" would just be a non sequitur. |

I found myself listening to suffocation purely for the drums, because the guitars feel to much like they're only there to back the drums up. But goddamn, are they good drums. |

He believes some secret society or cult is spying on him by reading his thoughts, so he tries to control his thoughts to elude them. He discovers it's too late, because this cult has discovered what he looks like, and can track him by sight, so he decides to, well, change his appearance. |

Maybe he made up his own demoness and named it after Abigor.
He was smoking snake ribs. That's what made all his songs awesome. |

His lover's dead, but he can't accept it, so he's weeping at her grave and it develops far worse, with the animal sacrifices and digging her up to ressurect her. Although I admit that the stake in the bosom infers that it could also be a vampire. |

I'd believe the schizophrenia thing, because he's not describing it as a mental illness, but he believes that there are monsters controlling him inside his head. Could be a metaphor that the monsters are his murderous desires, that he lets out. |

Wow, I thought this song was just satanic drivel meant to piss off christians, but now I can see it's really just a terrifying horror story like their other songs. I too wish I could understand the lyrics, because it would add depth to listening to the song, but at the same time I actually like the sound of it. I remember listening to Mike DiSalvo live and thinking "This isn't right". |

Not understanding metal makes sense. It's about a murderer who listened to metal, so his peers blame metal for turning him evil, even though it's their own fault for raising him so poorly. |

"Thoughts that grow narrow upon being verbally released"
It's about being a blabbermouths who expect everyone to listen to their opinions, and in turn don't listen to anyone elses. You can't really say it's against christians, because you have loudmouths of all ideologies. |

Who the hell's been brainwashed? You can't accuse someone who disagrees with Christianity of being brainwashed, since there's no one to brainwash them. They don't have churches, or pastors, or anti religious parents who force feed them beliefs from birth. Anyone who can break away from all that is the opposite of brainwashed. |

That'd make perfect sense if Muhammad Suicmez was an open christian and most of his lyrics suggested this. Too bad none of that is true. |

Lyrics are about being obsessed with revenge and anger clouding your judgement. Bestiality doesn't refer to sex, but rather anger taking over you and acting like an animal. No idea what "you are the nail" means. |

I say it's about your fear controlling you when trying a new experience, and you're paralysed so much, you inevitably fail. The past failure sticks in your mind, and you think you're no good, so you don't bother to try ever again. |

It's mainly about alcohol, but it can definitely refer to anything someone is obsessed with or loves, even though it's killing them. "Blade and my rope" seem to be a reference to suicide.
In response to "don't thin dt would make a song about alcohol", the later song Undo Control literally says "feel the flames of alcohol". It seems kind of hypocritical now that they praise their ability to outdrink other bands though. |
