nah it's right - it makes sense (well I thought it was "breaking through youR brow"). i.e: the doubt is in your mind but sometimes those things just pass, but if the doubt is "breaking through your brow" then it's stronger or in a sense more certain.
This is a great song. Sad though. Sometimes you want something to work so badly between yourself and another person. But I guess it's about facing the truth; that "there's no point in staying". |

This is definitely a much darker record. And chelseaz, I agree with you about Ben Gibbard downliving his lyric writing reputation, I was kindof disappointed... but there are a few songs yet to be leaked and I think this song is great. It captures the defeat of being alone so perfectly: "With a single pillow underneath your single head." And lines like "What's the point of holding onto what never gets used?" are a bit of a stab in the back... life sucks, thanks death cab. |

I think it's about what a couple can go through after the loss of a child ("but what happened to our boy inside your tummy?"), and the torment it can put both sides through... that now after everything they know things can never be perfect again. |
