Cyndi Lauper – Sally's Pigeons Lyrics 18 years ago
this song, is so very beautiful, and i can feel her smiling through tears. "She never saw those birds again and me I can't remember when a pirate smile, hsnt made me cry"....the swooning manner in which she sings this song is has an almost 8 yr old lilt to it and I allways break into tears at "two little girls in pony tails some twenty one years back". I can almost hear the gasp in her voice when she sais twenty-one cu it was in fact long ago and in the past.

Cyndi Lauper – True Colors Lyrics 18 years ago
I love tis song. I sent it via letter to this girl who i decided was my inspiration for 4 years...that crush didnt quite work out, and there were lots of teas and ridiculous; she was pretty fucked up in a lot of ways but allways managed to make me smile despite making me cry. I moved outa the country and gave this to her, cuz she is just as beautifully zainy as cyndi lauper herself, and I really hope she liked it. I could picture her singing me the song.

Regina Spektor – Samson Lyrics 18 years ago
I agree with whoever said that samson opened up to regina; that she felt that they were open with each other via his hair; "He ate a slice of wonder bread and went right back to bed" I think this lyric is wistful...that they loved simply and purely but later samson drifted off to sleep (can be an analogy) and Regina still remembers him fondly, but then as her sweetest downfall, and its was an invisible love which no books or the bible meantioned, so it was all the more precious.

Regina Spektor – Samson Lyrics 18 years ago
oh my god, this song just arouses a lot of sadness in me but in the beautiful kinda way. I heard it for the first time in concert and to me it is about a girl who gave someone her all emotionaly, and although she may have gotten loved back in a simple kind of way; the purest and best kind! its like 'samson' just lost his grip on reality. "Your hair was long when we fist met" reminds me sadly of someone amazing who used to have beautiful long hair but due to lots of bleaching and dying and a cocaine addiction it began to fall out. "wonder bread" is an analogy to drugs for me... I know I read into songs too much on a personal level, and I find it beautiful that Regina starts te song on that piano note as if to say "I will now open up to you bout what Samson really meant to me...despite it being sad and not working out, he was sweet" "The history books forgot about us ad the bbl didn't meantion us....it all happened invisibly...which makes her thinking about samson all the more precious and hard to cope with as something to move on from; she doesnt want to move on. She lingers on about him being her sweetest downfall, and this song (like almost all Regina spektor songs) sounds strongly felt by regina herself, even if it is sung long after she wrote it....wait...Does Regina write the songs she sings?
