I believe this songs purpose is to take everything you have experienced throughout the album and take it all away. it takes all your thoughts out of this world and at the end leaves you with the same feeling as the beginning of the album with the empty head feeling as the quote echoes from the back of your head and as the beating echoes from the front with the feeling of nothing inbetween. |

The first track on Dark Side of the Moon starts out with a beating sound which represents the emptiness and slowly it starts filling out this emptiness with the quotes and different things heard throughout this album...then at the end of the album it takes it all away leaving you with the same emptiness you started out with. |
