the meaning of this song is probably not as obvious as it seems, i'd say amanda knew what she was writing about. but do you really have to understand the lyrics and take it completely apart to like the song? I think not. The lyrics are meant to be tongu-in-cheek and not taken seriously. on another note, me and my boyfriend are the exact opposite of this he's the one who wants the romance and "love-making" I'm the one who is just horny haha |

I get the feeling this is about Justin's alcoholism? And his various drug problems, "you smokedthe demons, gave me back my feelings" I get that his girlfriend/other bandmates stopped him and gave him a reason to want to come clean. As his problems almost led to the breakup of MCS this sort of makes sense to me, but I don't know about anyone else haha. I also think that at the beginning its him saying that he's realised how good whoever this is to is making his life (as it could be aimed at his girlfriend, his band or his fans) and that he wants to overcome this to please them. But I also think that its about him trying and then giving up (before my face hits the floor- drunk maybe?) and the repeating "this is for real" makes it seem that he is always saying that "this is the last time" and that he will quit. the lines "Intravenous delivery, Electrolytes and more Every time it's the same routine Out with the bad, In with the clean" are the most obvious of him quitting. But that's just my opinion :) |
