This is my favourite song on the album. It´s got so much meaning, to him probably, but to me as well. I think it´s sincere and pure. I just love it. |

this song used to make me think of Edie Sedgwick. First when I saw the video and heard the song and later when I concentrated on the lyrics. To me, it´d make sense if it actually is about her. |

During a concert, I heard on TheJazz, he said he loves London even though everybody is complaining about the crappy weather. He wanted to write a song that makes people feel good about the crappy weather in a poetic way. He said he lives (or lived, i don´t know if he still lives there) near Notting Hill. Every year they have the Notting Hill Carnaval and that´s when Notting Hill looks a little bit like Rio de Janeiro. That´s why he threw a little bit of Carnaval in the song.
And then he added: just to confuse people he wrote this song in Paris.
I think this song, not just the lyrics, is a good summary for this album. It shows a little bit what the album is like.

to be hones he is talented in his own way. he may be not the best singer, but he is a real entertainer/character. he makes people feel like he lives for his music (i don´t dout that it´s true). he´s passionate and you can feel his energy during a gig or even on dvd.
i think he´s got the whole package. and for all i know he could have been performing all different kind of music, but in the end he was most succesful in jazz. he made jazz more approachable for younger people to listen jazz and to make jazz. |

i heard this song is an hommage to sufjan stevens. and i know mr. stevens is mentioned in `hands open´. but i can´t find any refernce to him in this song. andyone else heard about this? |

I´m not quite sure what´s this song´s about. I read somewhere that the title and so the title of the album is named after something Willy´s grandmother told him when he was younger.
But I like this sons so much! |
