To me, this song is about wasting your life on drugs, and wasting your life on being hard on yourself.
I love this song. |

I love this song. I'm not sure what it's about; all of the previous comments I've read make sense, though. :)
I really like when Dave's singing the pre-chorus part, i.e, "Everytime i wonder, i go under". |

I do remember reading something about Marigold being about Kurt......but I'm not sure. What I read might have been for Friend of a Friend. |

I bought Bleach a few weeks ago, and I've been listening to it nonstop. (I got the albums out of order...lol)
As for this song....I have no Idea what it means, but RehearsedInsanity seems to have a good idea of what it means. |

It almost sounds like "Hello cocaine come on in".
And don't bash me for saying that, I'm not one of those people who think: 'Just because Kurt did drugs all of his songs are about drugs.'
was he even doing any of that stuff then?
Love the song. One of my favorites on the album. |

I love NIRVANA'S version of this song. It's very different from the other songs on Bleach, but it's just as good as the other songs on that album. |

This is my favorite Bleach song. I love the monotone in Kurt's voice in the verses. |

| Nirvana – Come As You Are Lyrics

Come as you are is one of my favorite Nirvana songs. And it seems like every time I listen to it, there is a different meaning. I think its about fame, in some ways, and how people who used to be your 'enemies' are now your 'friends', which makes sense with the line "as a friend as a friend as an old enemy". "And I swear that I don't have a gun" is referring to covering up how he really feels, and what's really going on. What his friends don't know.
This song could also be about suicide, and how he swears that he's fine, but really, he isn't. And maybe about the aftermath of suicide, too, where your enemies become, in a way, your 'friend' because they wish you weren't gone.
But I read in Kurt's Journals that he didn't really have definate meanings for his songs. |
